After several requests to run another one of these (thank you! 🙏)…I’ve scheduled a new date! 👇 🐌 🐋

🌟 Julia Donaldson Book-tastic Event! 🌟

October Half Term | Monday 26th October 🐟
10.30am-12.30pm 🪱

A brand new, book-tastic session aimed at under 7’s (older children still very welcome!), where we celebrate the wonderful world of characters created by Julia Donaldson. We’ll bring the stories to life & your wildlings can get stuck in at the many ‘activity stations’! 👇

What to expect;
* Go on a themed character scavenger hunt 👀
* Make air dry clay Superworm characters (& look for his real life friends!) 🪱
* Create a broomstick like the Room on the Broom witch’s! 🧹
* Make ‘owl ice cream’ in the sand tray🍦
* Compose music like Tabby Mctat 🎵
* Show off your muscles with a ‘Smed’s versus Smoo’s’ game of tug of war 💜
* Tell story’s like Tiddler in the story zone 📚
* Make a shiny gold star badge for Zog 🌟
* Design & create your own ‘Stickman’ friend 🍃
* Pack a picnic to enjoy while listening to a story at the end of the session. 🧺📕
* Try some of the Smed's ‘pink milk’ 🥛
* End the session with hot chocolate & s’mores around the campfire. 🔥
* …plus lots more themed fun! 🤩

Join us in the woods this November, for some Forest School style Bonfire Night fun! 🔥🌭✨

What to expect;
• Hot dogs around the campfire 🌭 (these will be the bockwurst style hotdogs)
• Sparkler fun! (For all participants - young & old!) 🎇
• Bonfire themed activities & nature crafts 🔥
• Free play in our beautiful woodland site (complete with mud kitchen, slack-line, hammocks, tree swings, & more!) 🌳
• ‘Fancy’ hot chocolates complete with cream & mini marshmallows, & s’mores (of course!), under the twinkling fairy lights, to finish! ☕️

PLEASE NOTE: Due to our woodland location, it would not be responsible of us to have a bonfire at this event, however we will have our usual campfire to keep us all warm & cook on. 🔥

We can’t wait to see you in the woods to celebrate Bonfire Night the Forest School way! 🔥✨

I know it’s a little early, but lots of you have been asking when the Halloween sessions will be released, so here we are! ☺️🎃⬇️

‘Halloween in the Woods’ Special Event! 🎃

What to expect;
• Have a go at apple bobbing 🍎
• Get creative at the potion making station 🧪
• Make a witches broomstick 🧹
• Spin a stick spiders web 🕸️
• Go on a spooky scavenger hunt 🧟‍♂️
• Have a go at pumpkin hammering 🎃
• Make some halloween nature crafts ☠️
• Enjoy s’mores & hot chocolate around the campfire to finish! 🔥

As always, hot & cold drinks are provided, & all our usual Forest School favourites will be available including the mud kitchen, tree swings, slack-line, hammocks, construction zone, digging pit, fort, bird hide, & more! 🌳

This event is aimed at confident walkers - 10 year olds, however older children are still very welcome! Nothing will be too scary, just a little spooky fun! 👻🎃🦇

BugFest is coming to Child in the Wild! 🦂🪲🕷️

🌟Sunday 27th September🌟

What to expect;
* A relaxed, 1 hour exotic mini-beast handling & learning session delivered by BugFest (10.45-11.45) 🐌
* Get up close & personal with various beetles, cockroaches, giant bat eating millipedes, giant centipedes, tarantulas, & even a scorpion that squirts vinegar from its bum! - to name a few! 🦂
* Bug hunting around the woodland - how do our native mini-beast’s habitat’s compare with their exotic friends? 🐞
* Bug themed Forest School activities & crafts (& time to play!) 🪱
* S’mores & hot chocolates around the campfire to finish 🔥
* A certificate & ‘medal’ for each child 🥇

Families are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy under the tree canopy during the second half of the session (hand washing facilities are available). 🧺🌳

All ages are welcome to attend, but children aged 4+ will likely be able to get more from this special session. Babies/non-walking siblings are free. 🔢

Today we had a go at natural tie dye art! 💜

We carefully picked blackberries, smashed them up, added a little water, tied twine around white cotton sheets to try & create different patterns, then soaked them in the blackberry mixture for 20-30 minutes. The results were awesome! Some of the children even made little stick frames for their masterpieces! This was such a fun process. We can’t wait to try out different colours using nature…🤩

We have LOVED being Forest Fairies lately! 🧚🏻✨

What we’ve been up to;
Fairy door scavenger hunts, fairy door decorating, writing letters to Bluebell the fairy, finding out our fairy names, making willow nature crowns & stick fairy wands, eating fairy feasts under the tree canopy & ‘flying’ around the woods wearing our fairy wings! Fairies versus pixies tug of war, fairy potion making, & more! 🧪🌳

I can’t wait for more fairy sessions next week…I love bringing a little whimsical magic to the woods 🧚🏻 ✨

You’ve been asking for another ‘adults only’ Forest School session, so how about an Autumn nature crafts evening? 🤔👇

Grab a friend or 2, or come alone, & join me in the woodland for an ‘adult only’ session among the Autumnal trees! 🥂🌳🔥✨🍂

What to expect;
- A selection of (non alcoholic) drinks for you to enjoy 🥂 (feel free to bring your own booze!)
- Nibbles around the campfire (hot & cold drinks available as always too) 🍓
- Embrace the changing seasons & have a go at some Autumnal nature crafts 🍂
- S’mores & hot chocolate to finish the session 🔥
- The chance to enjoy the Forest School site in peace, relax in the hammocks, explore the woodland, or connect with your inner child & have a go on the slackline, tree swing or even make a mud pie in the mud kitchen! 🧘‍♀️

Please note: This is an adult only event - over 18’s only! 🔞

A Forest Fairy Tea Party! 🧚🏻

I didn’t get many photos as I was too busy being a fairy! But we had a fairy-tastic time in the woods today…first we got into our fairy gear - wings, crowns & fairy ears! Then we found out our fairy names - mine was Shadow Stardust. 🌟
Next, we went on a fairy door scavenger hunt, & lots of children wrote to Bluebell the fairy when they found her fairy post box! There was a little surprise from Bluebell at the end of the hunt too ✨
We then made willow star wands, to complete our outfits & make magic just like real fairies. 🪄
Our bellies started rumbling after all the fun, so we stopped for a fairy feast together. 🧁
Finally, we decorated wooden fairy doors to take home & put somewhere special for a fairy to find! 🧚🏻
We ended the session with s’mores & hot chocolate 😋
As always, there was lots of playing, exploring, & giggling! 🤭 Thanks for joining me fellow forest fairies! 🧚🏻

Calling all fairies! 📞 You are invited to a magical Forest Fairies Tea Party! 🧚🏻🍄🌳🧁✨

Saturday 12th September - 10.30-1pm ✨

What to expect;
• All children receive a flower crown, fairy wings & fairy ears on arrival (to keep!) 🧚🏼‍♀️
• Go on a fairy door scavenger hunt around the woods 👀 (& receive a little gift from Bluebell the fairy!)
• Decorate your own fairy door to take home 🌸
• Make a whimsical willow fairy wand 🪄
• Enjoy a fairy picnic under the tree canopy 🌳
• Fairy tattoos & stickers 💕
• S’mores & hot chocolates around the fire 🔥
•…and more! 🧚🏻🍄✨

✨IMPORTANT✨Please let me know when booking if your child has any allergies or other dietary requirements, & if they’d prefer either; a ham, a jam, or a cheese sandwich (select ‘extras’ when booking). Fairies can also enjoy a selection of fruit, crisps, & fairy cupcakes too! 🧁 As always, hot & cold drinks will be available for everyone to enjoy. ☕️
