Someone asked me the other day, “Are you not bored of reading books about yoga yet? Surely you know all you need to know by now?”

And the answer is of course NOPE! Don’t think I’ll ever get bored of it and there is ALWAYS more to learn!

I’ve loved this brilliant book by Donna Farhi.

One of my favourite parts is her interpretation of Sutra 1.33 from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. These four attitudes can help us navigate our relationships with others:

1. Friendliness toward the joyful
2. Compassion for those who are suffering
3. Celebrating the good in others
4. Remaining impartial to the faults and imperfections of others

I particularly like her interpretation of 3 + 4, which I’ve also seen translated as something like: delight towards the righteous and indifference towards the wicked.

Fahri’s interpretation reminds us that we all have virtuous qualities as well as faults and imperfections and that it benefits all if we choose to celebrate the benevolent and develop equanimity towards the undesirable qualities within us and others.

I also love her framing of yoga practice as “quite literally in the process of realigning ourselves with the rhythm of the universe”

That, to me, feels like a worthy and meaningful way to spend my days 😊

P.S. Thank you Carole Davies for passing on your book collection to me! I’m immensely enjoying working my way through them 🥰

Redefining success…

So often we define success through financial terms, especially when it comes to running a business.

One of the things I’m most proud of this year is the ripple effect of kindness that has manifested through running “pay it forward” classes in the park.

These classes have been a huge success because so many of you have got involved in paying it forward in such inspiring and varied ways!

I have loved having conversations about the charities or organisations many of you are involved in already. I have discovered that lots of you have given up your time and energy to help others, whether it’s friends, family, neighbours or the greater community. In fact, I’ve realised that generosity and kindness for many of you are already an integrated part of your life - and that is so incredibly inspiring to me 😊

Here are some of the messages I’ve received (I’m sorry if I’ve missed anyone’s off - there were a lot of messages to sift through!!!) - it’s brought me so much joy reading all these messages and I know that this is just a few of the many, many acts of generosity that as a community we have paid forward.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart - I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be surrounded by so much goodness, kindness & love.

There is still time to get involved and come along to practice in the park this summer! Classes will continue until Tuesday, 8th September (weather permitting)

Tuesdays 6-7pm
Thursdays 10-11am

Bring a mat, an open mind and a kind heart ❤️

Lots of love,
Jeni xx

Hey everyone,

I’m excited to share with you that I am starting a NEW Gentle Yoga class from 2nd September.

Gentle Yoga is the most popular style of yoga I teach and my Wednesday morning class has been consistently full for years now (thank you everyone who already attends!)

This summer I’ve had big waiting lists because there is more of you who want to attend than I have space for. So I’m delighted to add an extra class to my timetable so I can accommodate everyone who wants to attend 💛

This means on Wednesdays I will now teach 2 Gentle Yoga classes back to back: 9-10am & 10.30-11.30am.

These are available to book on GymCatch and spaces are already filling up. I recommend booking in advance for these ones to avoid disappointment (if you need to cancel closer to the time, you will receive a class credit as long as you give at least 24 hours notice).

If you are new to yoga and looking to join a friendly and welcoming class these ones are perfect for you - drop me a comment below and I’ll send you all the info directly.

Lots of love,
Jeni xx

Each month in my Vinyasa Flow classes we focus on a different sequence.

This month we are working on mobility & stability in lunges, strength in the shoulders and working towards different variations of splits pose.

Splits can be incredibly helpful when it comes to inversions too, so we will explore how these different elements can come together to help us feel more confident going upside down 🙃 (options are always offered so you can work at a level that is suitable for you).

You can book on GymCatch or leave a comment VINYASA and I’ll send you the link to book.

Hope to see you at class soon!
