Congratulations to all our past pupils on your GCSE results! 🎉
We hope you are feeling proud of what you have achieved.
Whatever your results, remember that they are just one step in your journey and they do not define your future. ❤️
If your results aren’t quite what you hoped for, don’t worry! There is always another way, another opportunity and another path to take. Keep believing in yourself and don’t let one set of results determine what you can achieve.
Whatever comes next, we wish you every happiness and success.
Believe in yourself, keep going and make your next chapter a great one! 💫

Celebrating Success at Our Prize Giving Ceremony 2026
Our school community came together recently for a wonderful Prize Giving Ceremony, celebrating the achievements, talents and contributions of pupils across the school. The afternoon was filled with smiles, applause and excitement as a wide range of prizes, trophies, cups and books were presented to pupils. Awards recognised achievements in general excellence, presentation, reading, PDMU, contribution to school life, sports, mental maths, ICT and academic excellence, highlighting the many different ways our pupils shine both inside and outside the classroom. A particularly special part of the afternoon was our Reception Graduation. Our youngest pupils looked absolutely wonderful in their graduation gowns as they proudly took to the front of the hall. They shared their learning and after receiving their certificates, the graduates returned to school with Miss Miller for a special tea party to celebrate this important milestone. We are so proud of these amazing young learners and all they have achieved during their first year of school. We were also delighted to be entertained by our talented singers, who performed beautifully for the audience. The pupils have worked hard throughout the year during their weekly vocal coaching lessons with Ms O'Hare from the EA Music Service, and their performance was a fantastic showcase of their confidence and musical ability. Our P6/7 pupils also treated everyone to a wonderful performance, bringing energy, humour and enthusiasm to the occasion. Of course, there was one moment that caught everyone by surprise—especially Mrs Hay! As she prepares to conclude her time as Principal of Donemana Primary School and take up her new role leading the new area nursery, staff and pupils arranged a special presentation and video celebrating her years of service to the school. There were plenty of laughs as memories, photographs and messages appeared on the screen, along with a few moments that may have caused some people to suddenly develop "something in their eye!" Mrs Hay responded by sharing an emotional poem reflecting on her time at the school and thanking pupils, families, staff and governors for their support over the years. The ceremony was a fitting way to celebrate another successful year at Donemana Primary School. Most importantly, it recognised the hard work, kindness, determination and achievements of all our pupils. Whether collecting a trophy, performing, graduating from Reception or cheering on friends, every child played a part in making the afternoon so memorable. Congratulations to all of our prize winners, performers and graduates. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a special occasion. It was the perfect way to round off another fantastic school year—and there wasn't a dry eye in the house!

Sunshine, Smiles and Sporting Success at Sports Day!
What a fantastic day we had at our annual Sports Day! We were incredibly lucky with the weather, enjoying glorious sunshine from start to finish as pupils, families and staff came together for a day packed with fun, laughter and friendly competition. Our pupils gave every event their very best effort, showing great determination, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the day. Whether they were sprinting, balancing, jumping or cheering on their friends, the enthusiasm was contagious! We took so many photographs that there were simply too many to share, but we have included some highlights in our Sports Day video so everyone can relive some of the fun. A huge thank you to all the parents, grandparents and family members who came along to support the children. The loud cheers from the sidelines helped make the day extra special. We would also like to give a special mention to all the brave adults who took part in the grown-up races. While the pupils displayed impressive athletic ability, some of the adults displayed impressive determination... and a surprising number of us discovered muscles we hadn't used in years! The races certainly provided plenty of entertainment for everyone watching. Another huge thank you goes to one of our very kind pupils who generously provided ice pops for every child. They were the perfect treat on such a warm day and were very much appreciated by all. We are also grateful to VIVO, who kindly donated water and fresh fruit for every pupil, helping everyone stay refreshed and energised throughout the day. Most importantly, everyone had a wonderful time. Sports Day was a fantastic celebration of participation, perseverance and having fun together as a school community. The smiles on faces all day long said it all! Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. We think the children slept very well that night—and we suspect a few adults did too!

International Day of Play 2026
There was plenty of laughter, learning and energetic fun across Donemana Primary School as we took part in the International Day of Play! The aim of the day was to celebrate the importance of play in children's lives and to recognise that play is not just fun—it helps children to develop communication skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, resilience and positive relationships with others. One of the highlights of the day was our extended break time, giving everyone extra opportunities to enjoy outdoor play with friends. A huge thank you must go to our wonderful staff team who kindly supervised outdoors for longer than usual. Their enthusiasm ensured that pupils could make the most of every minute of their extra playtime. Our P1 and P2/3 pupils enjoyed a very special shared play session when friends from the older classes joined them. It was lovely to see older pupils taking on leadership roles, helping younger children solve problems and build confidence. There was lots of teamwork, encouragement and imagination on display—and a few older pupils may even have rediscovered how much fun play can be! Meanwhile, P3/4 stepped into the world of Roald Dahl and took their learning outdoors. Inspired by George's Marvellous Medicine, pupils created their own "marvellous medicines" using natural materials they found outside. Thankfully, no grannies were transformed in the process! The activity encouraged creativity, imaginative thinking and rich discussion as pupils described the magical powers of their concoctions. Our P5/6 pupils took a slightly different approach due to their busy schedule. They completed a World Cup country flag scavenger hunt on another day—and were rewarded with much better weather! Pupils worked together to locate flags, identify countries and develop their knowledge of the wider world. The combination of physical activity, teamwork and geography made for an engaging learning experience, all while enjoying some unexpected sunshine. The day was a wonderful reminder that some of the most valuable learning can happen through play. Whether mixing magical medicines, helping younger friends, hunting for flags or simply enjoying extra time outdoors, pupils were developing important skills while having lots of fun. After all, learning and laughter are a pretty marvellous combination!
