Tuesday 21st, 6 divers from the club headed out aboard Valiant to dive off South Landing at Flamborough Head, following the northerly winds the expectation of good visibility was low, however, this didn’t put off a hardy bunch of North Sea divers, including newly qualified Ocean Dived Craig who was joining us for his first sea dive.
All the divers enjoyed an hour or so completing a drift dive on the incoming tide, seeing plenty of marine life despite the 1m viz.
On the surface though, we were spoilt with a beautiful windless evening and pods of dolphins a few meters from the boat.
As always a massive and special thanks to Keith at Bridlington Bay Boat Launch for accommodating our evening dives

On Friday 10th July RIB Valiant headed to the site of a wreck that had only been dived once before as far as anyone is aware. The mark, located almost 30 nautical miles off shore in 62m had no name and no know history. Blessed with stunning visibility during the dive Darren located a diver’s ultimate prize, the ships bell. Within a moment 83 years of mystery vanished, the unknown wreck now had an identity and a history! The wreck is that of the ST Crystal, built in Hull in 1859 and lost in 1943 after hitting a German laid mine

Please help the club if you can by clicking on the link and voting for us to hopefully get a grant towards new kit so that can continue to support community groups such as Scouts; junior football teams and swimming clubs and introduce them to this fabulous sport of Scuba Diving. Thank you 🙏

Members of the club ventured out on Tuesday evening aboard Valiant to dive the wreck of the HMS Falmouth in 16m of water on the low slack.
After dodging the rain showers, thunder and lightning bolts we were blessed with a beautiful sunny evening ….. for a while! As the sky’s darkened over the wreck site we had to endure a brief hailstorm before the sky turned blue again!
The trip saw Des and Thomaz undertake their first RIB dive, well done gents!

Great weekend diving at https://www.porthkerris.com/ with Doncaster Sub Aqua Club. Thanks to Laura and Andy for organising
3 wrecks, 2 pinnacles, 2 shore dives and a drift dive. A really great weekend and it was a treat getting on the lift to get on the boat rather than the usual pulling yourself onto a RHIB
