In the wake of tragedies over the Bank Holiday weekend, we are re-sharing importance advice on how to stay safe around open water.

Never jump into open bodies of water – this can cause cold water shock and impact on your ability to swim.

Don’t be peer pressured into swimming where you aren’t comfortable, or if you can’t swim

If a friend gets into trouble, encourage them to float to live and call 999 immediately.

Those who have lost their lives in recent tragedies have been teenagers - if you're a parent, have a conversation with your sons and daughters. It could save a life.

This week is our WOW active travel week and today is ‘Happy Shoesday’!! Children are welcome to wear any shoes that make them happy (or slippers inside on this wet weather day!) We’re also doing this to raise funds for active travel initiatives in school such as more bike/scooter racks. Please find the donation link on ParentPay

Our lion cub ‘Sprotbrough’s Handsome Lion’ has been completed and is ready to find its place on the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Trail. Once we know the location we will keep you updated

We were VERY impressed with all the entries for the egg and spoon Easter competition! Choosing the winners was incredibly difficult. Thank you for all the effort and support I creating these entries and supporting the school’s fundraising

We are having a fantastic Red Nose Day and have been really impressed with the crazy hair that entered school today! Classes have been laughing away at the joke competitions and we can’t wait to hear the finalists in assembly later
