Last week, our Nursery and Reception children had great fun making bird fat balls! πŸ¦β€β¬›

They carefully added them to bird feeders and hung them in the tree by our Mud Kitchen. The children are excited to see which birds come to visit and enjoy their tasty treats!

We hope our feathered friends enjoy them! 🐦🌳

πŸŒ±πŸ”¬ Year 1 and Year 2 have been busy scientists!

In Science, the children have been exploring what plants need to grow by carrying out their own investigations. They changed different variables in their experiments to find out whether plants could survive with and without certain things, such as light. The children made predictions, observed changes, and recorded their findings like real scientists.

They also spent some time outdoors caring for our school plants. The children were delighted to harvest over 40 strawberries, which they enjoyed sharing with their friends at break time. πŸ“πŸ˜Š

A fantastic afternoon of learning, investigating, and enjoying the fruits of our hard work!

What a fantastic effort from our amazing Year 1 pupils! πŸ‘πŸŒŸ

This week they completed their Phonics Screening Check, reading 40 words made up of a mixture of real words and alien words. πŸ‘½πŸ“š

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, determination and enthusiasm they have shown throughout the year. Well done, Year 1! You are superstars! βπŸ’™

🌟 Our amazing caretaker, Mr Goodwin, has been busy working his magic once again! πŸŽ¨πŸ› οΈ

He has given our EYFS mud kitchen a fantastic makeover with a fresh coat of paint and has carefully moved it to a lovely shaded spot, ready for lots of outdoor fun. πŸŒ³πŸƒ

The children can't wait to get stuck in with their mud pies, magical potions, and imaginative creations in its new home!

A huge thank you to Mr Goodwin for all his hard work and dedication in making our outdoor spaces so special for our children. πŸ’šπŸ‘

Sycamore Class have been exploring the exciting world of silent movies by creating their own backing music using Virtual Piano apps. 🎹🎬
The pupils demonstrated fantastic creativity as they experimented with different sounds, rhythms and moods to enhance the action on screen. They also worked with great maturity, listening carefully to one another’s ideas, collaborating effectively and making thoughtful choices about how music can influence an audience’s experience.
We are incredibly proud of the focus, imagination and teamwork they showed throughout this project. Well done, Sycamore Class!

πŸ“πŸ“ Strawberry Harvest! πŸ“πŸ“

The children in Willow Class were excited to discover that some of our strawberries were ready to harvest! 🌱✨

Nursery and Reception carefully picked the ripe strawberries, washed them, and then stripped off the green tops. πŸ“πŸ’¦ The children loved being involved in every step and were very proud of their hard work.

Best of all, they got to taste them and they were absolutely delicious! πŸ˜‹β€οΈ

What a wonderful way to learn about growing our own food and enjoying healthy treats from our garden. 🌿🌞

πŸŒ³πŸƒ Whole School Trip to Austerfield Study Centre πŸƒπŸŒ³

What a fantastic day our children had on their whole school trip to Austerfield Study Centre! πŸŒΏβ˜€οΈ

🐻 Willow Class enjoyed a day inspired by one of their favourite stories, We're Going on a Bear Hunt. They went on their own bear hunt through the woods 🐾, built a home for the bear πŸ‘πŸ‚, searched for natural objects on a nature walk πŸŒ±πŸ”, and created beautiful natural pictures 🎨🌼. They even took part in a fun snowball fight in the woods ❄️!

🌊 Sycamore Class explored rivers and plants in the local environment. They worked together to create a river and label its key features πŸ—ΊοΈπŸ’§, investigated different plants in the area 🌿🌻, and took part in a plant hunt to identify a variety of species. They also enjoyed a fun game to test their knowledge and show everything they had learned! πŸŽ―πŸ‘

We are incredibly proud of all our children, they were wonderfully behaved throughout the day and represented our school brilliantly. ⭐😊

A fantastic day of outdoor learning, exploration, and fun for everyone! πŸŒ³πŸŒžπŸ’š

πŸŒŠπŸ’™ Water Safety at School! πŸ’™πŸŒŠ
This morning, we’ve been learning all about water safety and how to stay safe around water. πŸš£β€β™‚οΈπŸŒŠ

A huge thank you to Geoff from the RNLI for visiting our school and delivering engaging sessions to Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. πŸ‘πŸš‘ The children learned about the dangers of water, how to stay safe, and took part in practical activities using lifesaving equipment. πŸ›Ÿβœ¨

Meanwhile, our Nursery and Reception children enjoyed practising important water safety skills by learning how to float like a starfish ⭐ and how to keep their nose and mouth safe in the water. πŸ’¦πŸ˜Š

It was a fun and educational morning, helping all our children gain valuable knowledge and confidence around water. Thank you again, Geoff and the RNLI! πŸ›ŸπŸ’™πŸŒŠ
