The Shaw Wood Extra Milers are hosting their first competition for the children in school, after half term.

If your child would like to take part, please send your completed Easter bonnet to school by Thursday 17th April 2025. 🐰🐥🥕

Lovely morning spent at Shaw Wood Academy sorting all the books for the library that we have donated as part of our fundraising.

It was an honour to attend the Pride of Armthorpe Awards as Chair of the PTA group.

Well done Team Shaw Wood Academy for creating such a wonderful event and a big congratulations to all the winners. Already looking forward to next year.

Also big thank you to AMZ Auto Transport for sponsoring our table.

Pupils in school were invited to take part in a ‘Design a logo’ competition for the newly formed PTA group, the Shaw Wood Extra Milers.

Thank you to all the children who took part in the competition there were so many amazing logos and it was a hard decision when it came to picking a winner.

Our profile picture is the winning logo, it was designed by one of the Year 5 pupils. We awarded her with a £30 Amazon voucher, as a prize and also a thank you from the Shaw Wood Extra Milers.

How about giving our man of the day/week/year Kevin Barrass a vote aka our favourite lollipop man.

Not only does he make sure that our children and us get across those roads safely he is there come rain or shine with the biggest smile on his face and dishing those high fives out to everyone.

How many of our children get excited on a daily basis to see him I know mine does.

So let's give our Kev a vote and make sure he gets a very deserved award 🏆
