Despite the weather conditions, our activities proceeded as planned yesterday. 🌧️🌧️🌧️ Currently, we are engaging in outdoor training, known as learning through landscapes. To ensure the children remain dry, waterproofs have been provided to be worn over their clothing. This provision allows us to make full use of our outdoor spaces regardless of the weather. The children actively participated in various activities including using mathematical language while collecting water in pans of different sizes, engaging their imaginations by washing babies with natural rainwater, and the Cheeky Monkey's took part in a kixx football session out on the front. Also our staff made full use of the dry robes also provided as part of the outdoor training😀

Home remedies such as turmeric, toothpaste, eggs or ice are still commonly used to treat burns. But these can actually do more harm than good.
Anything greasy traps the heat under the greasy layer and prevents heat from escaping.
Plus, the nurse will need to remove the home remedy to treat the burn. This can be painful and distressing for a child, especially if the remedy was oily or sticky.
Instead, remember COOL, CALL, COVER
COOL the burn for 20 minutes under cool (not cold) or lukewarm running water.
CALL for help for any burn bigger than a 50p coin.
COVER the burn loosely with cling film or a clean, non-fluffy dressing or cloth.

Some useful information for our children that are starting 'BIG' school in September 😍
Home - Starting Reception
Your child's journey to school starts at home. We understand that all children develop at their own pace, and that we’re all learning from birth. With school readiness, some children will need more help than others.

Starting potty training is a big milestone in your child's development journey. It's important to remember that every child progresses at their own pace.
Research shows that transitioning from nappies to using the potty or pull-ups usually happens between 18-30 months, but it can vary.
To help you we have some useful guides available in the main foyer
- feel free to take one for yourself.
If you require the information in a different language, just give us a shout - we're here to help!🥰

This week, the Tiny tots have been engaging in the creative process of making natural sticky pictures. They gathered natural materials from the nursery field and assisted in transporting them to the activity table. Subsequently, the children practised their fine motor skills by utilising scissors to cut the natural materials before affixing them onto the adhesive backing to craft their artwork.
