I was very pleased to receive these Pupil Voice quotes from Kingfisher School, where we visited last week to do our "So You Want2B a Victorian?" workshop. Thank you to the staff and learners who made us feel very welcome.

Fluff or Fanfare?
I was once at a school where the head teacher referred to what we did on our Roman workshop as "fluff". Their word, not mine. I suppose they meant that the forming of a testudo as a demonstration of the Roman army's might and the making of a mosaic tile, were not listed as facts to be learned in the National Curriculum document for History. I was not invited back. No surprise.
At the time, many of the published curricula were using the idea of a "Hook" event and a celebration of learning event as ways to inspire and enthuse. Not for this head.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. The head teacher came to find me at lunch and said that what we were doing was amazing and he was going to email all the other heads in the MAT and recommend me.
So what do you think? Fluff or fanfare? 😆

Some lovely feedback from last week and the Victorian workshop at Holy Trinity C of E Infant School . I love it when people appreciate what we do!

We had a fantastic day today in Southwell. Holy Trinity C of E Infant School was built in 1846 and still has a Victorian washroom, complete with range. It was so exciting to be re-enacting Victorian life in a Victorian building!
Thank you to the staff for a lovely welcome and to the learners for joining in so enthusiastically.

Merry May Giveaway!
Want2B workshops is giving away 2 x Half Day workshops!
Nominate a school and win a half-day workshop each, for you and for them!
Can you believe that there are still schools out there who haven't heard of Want2B Workshops??
They don't know the value our company puts on interactive, hands-on learning and what that can bring to a class’s learning journey. They haven't experienced the impact of children using high quality replicas, handling genuine period artefacts and role playing to further their understanding. Their children haven't had the opportunity to do all of these things and take home an art or craft item, too. They don't know that there are different periods to choose from in our lovely workshops:
“So You Want2B a Roman?”, “So You Want2B a Victorian?” and “So You Want2B in the Stone Age?”
So, I am asking for your help to spread the word so that other schools may benefit from a Want2B Workshop.
Now, here is the good part!
All you lovely smashers who tell another school will be entered into a Prize Draw to win a half-day workshop for them and a half-day workshop for their chosen school.
Here is what I would like you to do:
Please will you share this post with a friend, relative or colleague in another school who has not yet hosted a Want2B Workshop. You might want to add a few words about your experience to really sweeten the deal. Ask that lovely person to send me an email from their official school email address to [email protected] and tell me who / what school nominated them. Each partnership of schools who reply will be entered into the draw to win a half-day workshop each. Alternatively, the new school may use the Contact Form on our website www.want2bworkshops.co.uk to tell me who / what school nominated them.
There are some pesky Ts and Cs which I will pop in the comments.
