They're interested in candidates with mechanical experience from:
🔹 Automotive & HGV
🔹 Manufacturing & production

🔹 Maintenance, fitting or overhaul environments

What you'll be doing:
✔️ Overhauling and rebuilding rail wheelsets
✔️ Mechanical assembly
✔️ Working from engineering drawings
✔️ Inspection and quality checks
✔️ Basic wiring and testing
✔️ Working within a skilled engineering team

You'll need a Level 3 mechanical qualification and an apprentice-trained mechanical background. Most importantly, they're looking for people who are reliable, willing to learn and ready to develop their skills.

🕐 37.5 hours per week | Rotating shifts
🌅 Mornings: 6am–2.15pm Mon–Thurs, 6am–11.30am Friday
🌙 Afters: 2pm–10.15pm Mon–Thurs, 2pm–5pm Friday

Plus 25 days holiday + bank holidays, 5% pension, death in service, cycle to work scheme, free flu jab, parking, workwear & PPE.

A local engineering company has secured a major new contract expected to provide around 10 years of employment, training and development opportunities – and they’re looking for experienced Fitters to join the team!

💷 £36,982 starting salary
📈 £39,677 after training & competencies
💰 Weekend overtime available
⏰ 37.5 hours per week
🏖️ 25 days + bank holidays
💷 5% contributory pension
🚗 Free/ample parking
👕 Workwear & PPE provided
🚲 Cycle to work scheme

Your background could be in rail, aerospace, HGV, automotive, motor mechanics, heavy engineering, manufacturing or production.

You'll be working on the overhaul of rail wheel sets, carrying out inspections, measurements, component overhaul, assembly and testing.

You'll need a Level 3 mechanical qualification (City & Guilds or BTEC) or an equivalent apprentice-trained background, with experience in heavy engineering fitting.

And don't worry if you haven't worked in rail before – rail experience is desirable, but other relevant engineering backgrounds will be considered.

⏰ Shifts rotate weekly:
