Rainbow fish.
This one will take time, concentration & dexterity. It’s one for the older children; threading beads on clear cord over the coloured stripes. Then sticking on a wooden plaque which will be painted like the sea.

Hello, I'm Rachel 🙂
I am an OFSTED registered Childminder and I have been working for over 12 years now. I am proud to have been graded GOOD at every inspection. I live with my Husband of 13 years and we have 3 children together; 2 girls and a boy. We live in Finningley, close to St Oswalds School where I do school and nursery drop off and pick ups.
I offer Term time only contracts and your child can attend in the holidays Only if you require holiday care. I have a creative flair and love doing crafts with the children. During the holidays I will always plan activities in advance for the weeks ahead, so that the children and parents/guardians know what fun we'll be getting up to. I studied ND Fine Art in college and have a Diploma qualification. I have experience in Health Care; caring for palliative patients, disabled, special needs, injury and trauma. At University I studied Mental Health Nursing before deciding to work from home as a Childminder when I had my children. My interests are Art, Fitness, gymnastics, animals, being outdoors. My setting is a place with opportunity to have a lot of fun. It is spacious, with a focus on outdoor play; there is a treehouse and play cafe, sunken large trampoline, role play shop and vets outbuilding, cosy upstairs cabin, outdoor table and chairs. Many toys including; Outdoor ride ons, tunnels, sports equipment- skipping ropes, gymnastics bar, crash mats/ gym mats, large connect 4. Construction games; magnetic blocks, Lego, puzzles. small world and imaginative play; large fairy garden, doll houses... the list goes on! Indoors there is a seating area to seat 8+ and indoor toys. Our setting encourages play and learning with a focus on being outside, playing with others and independent play with very limited screen time! TV time is not completely off limits but it is discouraged. You can expect your child to have an action packed day when they attend; where they can explore, use their imagination, be active and play until their hearts content with many resources to suit all. Studies have proven that children learn best through play. Play helps young minds grow by letting them test ideas, solve problems and make sense of the world in a natural, low stress way. Outdoor play has proven to be beneficial to children for improving physical health, mental well-being and social skills by giving children space to run, explore nature and manage stress. It builds strong muscles, boosts vitamin D, enhances focus and sparks imagination. We have a roofed enclosed area which spans half of our garden; so that children can play come rain or shine. Children who attend will be joining a setting where all children and grown ups value one another, always considering their feelings. We show respect, kindness and inclusion and have a no bullying policy. Children are taught and encouraged to manage high emotions by talking about their feeling and communicating them with their peers rather than displaying anger. Children attending (of all different ages) soon become close and almost like a little family. As their childcare provider I have both a professional and personal relationship with the children; I educate, provide and create opportunities for children to grow and flourish in a safe environment whilst building a strong caring and trusting relationship, with families alike.

This weeks activities were a real hit with the children.
Some extra children even joined us for ‘fear of missing out’ (as their parents said) 😂😂
The more the merrier🥰 we had a blast.
Over the weekend I’ll be having a go at the activities I have planned. I like to be prepared and have a go before the children because often I’ve thought up the ideas myself but haven’t yet tried them!
I will post photos when I’ve made the rainbow fish, fuzzy caterpillars and jelly fish, so that the children can see what we’ll making next week!
Have a great weekend! ☀️

I didn’t have time to video the making of these perfumes whilst being hands on unfortunately.
1. The children started by smelling different natural scents; grown herbs and plants such as mint, lavender & citrus fruits 🍈 🍊 🍋 🍃🌺
2. They decided which fragrances were their favourites and complimented one another.
3. Labels were made on colours with pretty gems and ribbons to suit the perfume and a name chosen (Love potion ❤️ sunrise 🌅
4. Perfumes were made with water and fragrances added, then pretty sparkles, petals and some herbs to finish and make it attractive.
I had to photograph these to show you how beautiful they look even before the children’s pretty labels go on! 😍🥰

Today we’re making our own scented perfumes.
Smelling fresh mint and lavender and designing our own labels, decorated and named according to their smell and colours ✨🦋🌿🌹🌸🍋
