As we approach the end of the year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on some truly special memories.💫

This is a proud highlight - one of our students attending the Great British Care Awards (Yorkshire and Humber region) after being nominated as a finalist for the Co-Production Award, alongside members of the Hesley clinical team.⭐

What a wonderful afternoon celebrating Christmas together at college!🎄✨

It was so lovely to sit down, enjoy festive food, pull crackers, and spend quality time with one another.🎁💫

Mercury College and Meadow View choirs came together to perform at the annual ‘A Choral Christmas’ extravaganza at the Dome on the evening of Monday 8th December.🎄

Joining with over a dozen other ensembles from across the Rainbow Connection family of choirs, our talented people we support, along with college and Hesley colleagues joined in with massed choral song and had performed a featured spot of their own with the festive classic ‘Rockin Around the Christmas tree.’🎶

The evening featured over 350 young performers from across the Doncaster area and the Dome was packed to the rafters with an appreciative audience.✨

Our team is getting into the festive spirit at college, rocking their best Christmas jumpers!🎄✨

Students explored essential workshop health and safety and then got creative with some colourful paint.🎨

Mercury College Choir Performing Tonight in "A Choral Christmas 2025"

This evening from 6:30pm (Monday 8th December), Rainbow Connection Choirs are thrilled to bring their family of choirs back to the Doncaster Dome in a joy filled festive evening of song.

We're proud to share that our college choir will be joining in with choirs from across the borough in massed song and we’ll even be having a featured set of our own!

Did you know we have dedicated training flats where students can develop real-life skills.🏡

This hands-on practice is essential in supporting their growing independence and confidence.💪

As part of our Access to Thrive pathway, students visited the shop at Meadow View to pick up items for their cooking sessions and to develop the skills they need for independent shopping in the community.🛍️

Some of our students recently attended the Preparing for Adulthood event at Doncaster Racecourse, designed for SEND and neurodivergent young people.

They had the opportunity to meet a wide range of local and national organisations, gain insights into education, employment, training, independence, housing, community inclusion, and health, and explore exciting opportunities to shape their futures.🌍

It was fantastic to see our students engaging, learning, and taking steps toward a bright and empowered future!✨

Our students recently took part in an arts and crafts workshop with Artworks Barnsley in preparation for Barnsley Bright Nights. Last Monday, they had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Neon Garden and see their creations on display.

The Neon Garden is a dazzling large-scale installation co-created by hundreds of local young people and adults, many of whom are learning disabled or autistic. Designed especially for Bright Nights, the project celebrates creativity, inclusion, and the incredible artistic talent within our community.

We’re incredibly proud that our students contributed to the installation by crafting some of its vibrant petals - each one symbolising how bright, nurturing, and joyful our community can be when we grow our garden together.🌟🌸

We’re really getting into the Christmas spirit at college!🎄

Students have been busy preparing for the festivities by creating beautiful Christmas wreaths and decorations. It’s been such a fun, hands-on activity - and they absolutely loved every moment of it!✨🎁
