Maths in Rainbows and Sunshines Pre School rooms! 🌈

In these rooms, maths is part of everyday learning and play. We focus on comparing sizes, using mathematical language and helping children understand that numbers represent quantities.

Through hands-on activities, children are encouraged to count, compare, sort and problem-solve in fun and meaningful ways, building those important mathematical skills ready for school. 🔢✨

Big adventures can happen right on our doorstep! 🌿☀️

For our preschool children, outdoor play is all about exploring, getting creative and having fun.

Whether they’re zooming around the bike track, building their own obstacle courses, creating imaginative dens or simply investigating what they can find outside, there’s always something new to discover.

Our outdoor space gives children the freedom to take risks, try new things, work together and use their imaginations, all while enjoying the fresh air and having plenty of fun along the way.

Because sometimes, the best learning happens when children are simply given the space to play, explore and be themselves. 💚

Ofsted report July 2026

Back in July we had our Ofsted visit and have been waiting eagerly for the publication. Sunny Skies Academy has been open for just 2 years and I am extremely proud of how far we have come in such a short space of time. We have gone from a team of 10 and 3 classrooms to a team of 36 with 7 classrooms. At the time of the visit the expansion upstairs had been open for just 9 short weeks.

I am proud to share with you the Ofsted report and feel it reflects the setting perfectly. I would like to thank my dedicated and hard-working practitioners for all they do and their commitment to providing the best start for our families and children.

Bringing stories to life! 📚

Storytelling is a big part of learning in our rooms, giving children the chance to listen, join in and become part of the story.

Through interactive stories, children can act out different parts, practise recalling events and develop their story sequencing skills - all while building confidence, communication and a love of reading. 🌈
