Understanding Schemas Through Play 🌱

Did you know that the repeated actions children make during play can tell us a lot about how they are learning?

These schemas are patterns of behaviour that help children explore, investigate and make sense of the world around them.

For example, a child who loves connecting might enjoy threading, building, joining objects together or making chains. A child interested in positioning may enjoy stacking, lining up or balancing objects.

By recognising these patterns, our practitioners can provide activities that follow each child’s interests and support their learning, curiosity and development. 💚
