🧑🏼‍🍳 Maternity Cover - Nursery Cook required. 🧑🏼‍🍳

We are looking for a nursery cook to cover maternity leave from this summer for up to 12 months (dates TBC).

The role of the Nursery Cook is to prepare and cook healthy, nutritious meals from our menu, for the number of children in attendance each day, including those with dietary requirements, in line with Food Safety Standards.

The position is part time (5 mornings a week) and we have a maximum daily intake of 30 children.

A confident home cook would be ideal for this opportunity. Any qualifications/ training required can be obtained through the company.

Our ‘High Flyer’ for May 2026 is Katie!

Katie has been doing a fantastic job in our Little Hurricanes room. As the acting Room Leader during Ashleigh’s maternity leave, she has excelled in her role. From her welcoming smile to her well thought out learning experiences, Katie goes above and beyond. She takes care, understanding & time to help new children and their families settle. Throughout May, Katie has introduced different plants to help the children understand where food comes from and the children have been fascinated with picking tomatoes off the vines and smelling the different herbs. Additionally, Katie has been assisting her team members with end-of-term reports and the two-year progress checks. Her commitment is greatly appreciated!

Our ‘High Flyer’ for April 2026 is Shannon!

Shannon consistently excels in her role as our manager. She strives to support our families and practitioners by assisting our little ones with sleep/bottle routines, covering in rooms and much more. During April, she has been especially helpful to the Little Hawks team as we welcomed new babies and staff into the Flying Start family. Additionally, Shannon is focused on enhancing high-quality adult-directed learning and interactions throughout the nursery. She is also committed to her professional growth by engaging in training and meetings outside of the nursery.

Our ‘High Flyer’ for March 2026 is Amy!

Amy is a cherished member of our Big Hurricanes Team and is well regarded by everyone in the nursery. She is doing an excellent job as a key person while also pursuing her Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification at Doncaster College, stepping in to support all rooms when necessary. Amy's calm and caring nature shines through in all her interactions, always accompanied by a cheerful smile. Her confidence and professional growth continue to develop impressively, making her a wonderful asset to our team and the children’s learning journey.

Jax has been doing an amazing job as a key person in our Little Hurricanes room! Throughout February, we've noticed a fantastic boost in her professional development, and her confidence has really stood out. She's been dedicated to achieving her Level 3 qualification, using what she's learning to support the children effectively.
