Last week, we launched Sparx Reader with our Year 7 students and have been blown away by their investment so far! 📖📖

Completion of Sparx Reader will replace their current English homework for the remainder of the half-term. Students will be required to complete 30 minutes of reading on Sparx Reader per week. Reading for 30 minutes a week can significantly improve various aspects of a students life including their confidence, self-esteem and mental wellbeing. Reading for Pleasure also has a proven impact on academic ability, helping students to grow their vocabulary, improve their memory and become competent writers.

Well done to our Top Ten Readers from last week! A special well done to Mia, William and Megan who came in the top 3 of the entire year group! Year 7 - make sure you complete this week's reading to be in with a chance of getting on the leaderboard!

Tonight they played against Hayfield and won! They are currently undefeated for this year.

Sports Day 2026- Friday 19.06 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Due to Sports Day, Period 4 will not take place for Year 10 students on Friday (19th June).

As a result, Year 10 students will leave the academy at 2:50 pm, following the same departure arrangements that are in place on Wednesdays.

Year 11- we are on the final stretch now! Today is Chemistry this morning and Polish this afternoon.

Yesterday, some of our Year 7 and Year 8 students had a fantastic day at the Big Bang Fair at the NEC Birmingham, exploring a wide range of STEM opportunities. 🧪👩‍🔬👨‍🔬🔭

They enjoyed interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, live shows, and demonstrations covering topics such as engineering, AI, sustainability and aviation.

The visit gave students valuable insight into the exciting careers and innovations shaping the future. 🚀
