🖤🤍 WEEKEND ROUND-UP | GRANTHAM TOWN YOUTH 🤍🖤

Another positive weekend of football across our Youth & Development sides, with plenty of encouraging performances in some very hot conditions! ☀️⚽

⚽ Our U10 Blacks battled brilliantly to earn a draw against an in-form Muskham side. The Blacks played some excellent football and controlled large spells of the game, but couldn't turn their first-half dominance into goals. Having twice found themselves two goals behind, they showed fantastic character to fight back on both occasions and earn a thoroughly deserved draw. 👏

⚽ Our U13s travelled to Keyworth with a bare squad of just nine players and came away with a hard-earned 1-1 draw. Max opened the scoring after chasing down a long ball from Caiden, rounding the keeper and finishing well. Keyworth levelled shortly afterwards, but a huge effort from everyone — with no substitutes in the heat — secured the draw. Special mention to Caiden, who produced some fantastic saves to keep Grantham in the game. 🧤👏

⚽ Our U23s continued their strong pre-season with an impressive 3-1 victory over a very capable Matlock Town U18 side. The Gingerbreads built a deserved lead and created plenty of opportunities throughout before seeing the game out to record another encouraging win.

⚽ Our Women welcomed Boston United Women to The Meres for their second pre-season friendly. It was an entertaining and evenly contested game with chances at both ends, but Boston ultimately came away with the victory. A big thank you to Boston for the game and best wishes for the season ahead.

Our U23s are back at Robin Hood Colts tonight, this time taking on their First Team as they continue their pre-season preparations.

🖤🤍 YOUTH ROUND-UP 🖤🤍

Another encouraging weekend for our youth and development sides, with four wins and a draw to round off pre-season in style! 👏

⚽ U13s claimed a superb 4-1 away win over Newark Brazil Corinthians. Grantham controlled possession throughout, defended resolutely when called upon and finished clinically. Goals came from Connor, Mason, Raymond and Edward (penalty), while Caiden earned Player of the Match after producing an outstanding one-on-one save.

⚽ U16s enjoyed a successful trip to the seaside, running out 4-0 winners against Skegness Town with another excellent all-round team performance.

⚽ U18s battled to an entertaining 3-3 draw with DLFC Grey. A much-improved display saw Grantham lead for much of the game thanks to a goal from Sam/Abdul (both connected with the finish!) and a brilliant brace from Niko, before injuries left the side down to 10 men and DLFC grabbed a late equaliser.

⚽ U23s came from a slow start to beat Robin Hood Colts U18s 3-1. After going in level at the break, Grantham stepped up in the second half with R. Kolasa scoring twice and H. Bexon adding the third.

⚽ Reserves rounded off pre-season with an emphatic 8-2 victory over Calverton Miners Welfare. Blakey netted four, George added a hat-trick and Sam completed the scoring as attention now turns to the start of the league campaign.
