Who’s joining me tomorrow at Shaw Wood Academy with Armthorpe Family Hub Forest school playgroup? It’s looking like it’s going to be a dry one. Please can both adults and children wear full footwear, boots wellies or trainers, long sleeves and trousers. We are at the bottom of ShawWood Academy on Mere Lane Armthorpe. 9:15 to 10:15 and it’s free.

A huge thank you to our wonderful kitchen staff for making some delicious brownies for Year 6 today to celebrate all of the children’s hard work and effort during SATs week!

The children absolutely loved them and it was a lovely treat to end the week and start our holidays 😊

We would like to say a huge well done to all of our Year 6 children for their fantastic effort and attitude during SATs week. We are incredibly proud of the resilience, determination and maturity they have shown each day.

The children approached every test with positivity and gave their absolute best effort, which is all we could ever ask for. They should all feel very proud of themselves!

We celebrated the end of SATs in style by throwing away all of the SATs papers - there were lots of smiles and cheers all around! 🎉

The Pride of Armthorpe Awards is back for the fourth year running. 🏆
The awards evening will take place on Friday 12th June 2026 at the Armthorpe Parish Council and Community Centre

Our Year 1 pupils had a fantastic time visiting the York Train Museum last week🚂

The children loved exploring the trains, learning new things and finding out what railways were like in the past.

It was a great day all-round 😃
