British COMBAT SAMBO Championships 2026

🚨Entries to the British Combat Sambo Championships close TODAY at 9pm 🚨

With the National British Combat Sambo Championships now being only a few days away we wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the location, weigh in times, start time & kit requirements.

🧭 Location : Hall Cross Academy Lower School,
St Michael's Road,
Doncaster

🗓 Date : Saturday 22nd August 2026

⚖️Weigh ins available Friday 21st as well as when you arrive on the day.... times are :
🕛 Friday from 12 noon until 2.30pm at Doncaster Sambo & Wrestling
🕝 Fridy from 2.30pm until 6pm at the Comp Venue.
Alternatively you can Weigh in when you arrive on Saturday.
**Please be aware EVERYONE is to Weigh in on the same set of scales therefore we will not be accepting video weigh ins so please don't ask**

🕘 Doors open to competitors & spectators at 9am on Saturday (yes comp staff will be there sorting out final touches to the event earlier than this but anyone arriving early will be asked to wait until 9am to come into the venue).

📌Please remember this is THE National Championships therefore the kit has to adhere to FIAS regulations for all competitors.

🔥Adult Competitors :
🔴 You will need both red & Blue Jacket & shorts - Preferably Combat Sambo shorts as grabbing of the shorts is now allowed during matches (compression shorts must be the same colour as your kit & must not be longer than the shorts) men are to be topless underneath the sambo jacket & women are to wear a plain white tshirt, no patterns or logos.
🔵 You will need in both colours headguards, sock-style shinguards & 4oz gloves (no other colour will be allowed to compete in)
🔴 Knee pads can either be the colour you are competing in or black (no other colour will be accepted)
🔵 Sambo boots must be worn & be either matching the colour you are competing in or bi-coloured (black sambo boots, wrestling boots, boxing boots or barefoot are not allowed)
🔴 Groinguards & mouthguards are compulsory for adults.

⭐️Junior Competitors :
🔵 You will need both red & Blue Jacket & shorts - Preferably Combat Sambo shorts as grabbing of the shorts is now allowed during matches (compression shorts must be the same colour as your kit & must not be longer than the shorts) All juniors can wear a plain white tshirt underneath their jackets but no other colour or logos (compulsory for females)
🔴 You will need in both colours sock-style shinguards & 7oz gloves (no other colour will be allowed to compete in) Juniors do not need headguards as there is no headshots allowed for anyone under 18
🔵 Knee pads can either be the colour you are competing in or black (no other colour will be accepted)
🔴 Sambo boots must be worn & be either matching the colour you are competing in or bi-coloured (black sambo boots, wrestling boots, boxing boots or barefoot are not allowed)
🔵 Groinguards & Mouthguards are ADVISED but not compulsory for under 18's

⚡️ We will have some clothing stock available to purchase on the day but this is a very limited amount, we don't have all sizes of the kit (we have more junior kit available than adults) so please talk to our staff prior to the event if you need anything to be able to compete so as to not be disappointed if you leave it until the day and we dont have your size or colour.

🥪🍫☕️🥛🍌 We will have fruit, snacks, sandwiches, hotdogs and both hot & cold drinks available to purchase at the event. We accept both cash 💷 & card payments 💳

We encourage you all to bring along your friends, family and teammates to support you ❤️
Spectator fees are £5 for adults & £2.50 for children (under 5yrs are FREE)

As the temperature is set to remain in the mid to high 30s this evening, we apologise however we won’t be running the kids no-gi and sport sambo classes for health and safety.

Martial arts classes still on:
6:30pm No-Gi class 14+ ✅ ON
7:30pm Sport Sambo class 14+ ✅ ON

❌ No kids BJJ class on today 5-6pm due to heat
