We use Squirrel Wood to promote play in nature through various activities. Hi, we’re Sharon and Paul and we run regular sessions for families, childminders, nurseries and schools to access a woodland environment using fun and exciting activities. About Sharon: A lifelong champion of children, Sharon has worked as a childminder, in schools, and is a qualified Nursery Nurse with a degree in Supporting Learning. Her passion for nurturing little ones truly shines through in everything she does! About Paul: A proud Sheffield Wednesday fan and keen fisherman, Paul is a roofer by trade who ran his own business (now taken over by his son). He’s also a talented woodworker and loves being outdoors! Together, we have been married for 37 years and are proud parents of 3 adult children, 4 wonderful grandsons, and 2 amazing foster sons. After fostering for 16 years and being the “fun, daft” aunt and uncle to a big extended family, we’re excited to bring that same energy, care, and creativity to Forest Friends! Nature is good for us. When children access outdoor play on a regular basis it allows for healthier, happier children. Children become more confident, creative and greater problem-solvers when accessing the natural world. Through the use of the outdoor environment and our natural surroundings, we provide fun family sessions based around themes such as stories, bug hunting or den building. We also provide private parties and sessions which can be based around any theme you like. Please contact us for more details. Sessions are available to view on the website

Autumn in the woods is a magical season filled with colour, discovery and adventure. Golden leaves drift from the trees, crunchy paths wind through the forest floor, and the crisp air carries the scent of earth and woodland treasures.
Children can explore nature's changing landscape, hunt for conkers and acorns, build dens, splash through muddy puddles and watch wildlife preparing for winter.
Forest Friends Woodland Playgroup offers a wonderful opportunity for little ones to learn, play and grow in the great outdoors. Through nature-based activities, woodland adventures and imaginative play, children can develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong connection with the natural world.
