I'm still not convinced that I'm completely ready to write this post, but I'll give it a go.
What can I say about this amazing group of children/young adults? The way they all looked out for one another and supported and cheered each other. They are an absolute credit to themselves and their families. Watching the performance on Saturday from the back of the hall, whilst running around manically trying to sort lights, sound, and make sure they knew they were up next was an emotional one. I know it might not have seemed it at the time, but there were many times if I'd not pulled myself back I'd have been an absolute blubbering wreck by the finale, and I had to keep it together so I didn't start them off!
They way these 10 children have grown in confidence, and generally as people is amazing. It's not always obvious when you see them week in week out, but I think I might let myself be proud for once of the progress they've all made.
It was a bittersweet day, and though I almost held it together at the time, the adrenaline has worn off now and there have been many tears shed.
Thank you so much for the lovely gifts and the beautiful messages in the cards.
It's the end of an era. I'm crying again writing this, but it's time to move on. I hope you all take that confidence with you in whatever you do, whether or not you continue performing.
