After posting the names to be looked over by the close and wider communities we have had great feedback and updates of names to be added, we are currently now in the final stages of finalising the names for the final print once updated this will be to shown has final draft before completion of the graphics and printing.

Art Avenue CIC fantastic news

Working with Hatfield Main Heritage trust and the pit club and taking up a proposal by Stan Bowman.

Over the last few months we have been compiling a list of men that died due to industrial accidents at Hatfield Main Colliery - the initial idea to produce a lasting memorial to these men and boys hit problems finding a comprehensive list but work has been ongoing and with thanks to Stans family Algi Liutkevicus and members of the Trust we’ve now been able to put together a updated list of over 80 fatalities -

Art Avenue has secured a grant to be able to further a new mural to be on the pit club wall as part of the memorial garden

Based on a miners banner the design will include these names the banner design still not finished or ready for print yet but gives a good indication of the aims of the the design outcome

Also I’m please to say we have got local talent Grace cooke & Macie Mckone helping paint our design which will be situation either side of the name.
