What a busy couple of weeks we have had in dragonflies den.

โ˜€๏ธ We have all been wearing sun cream and our sun hats to keep us safe while playing in the garden in this glorious weatherโ˜€๏ธ

We have been doing some painting outside using coloured water that we mixed together, we talked about the colours we could see and if any colours matched the things we could see in the garden.๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

The children have also been celebrating world earth day๐ŸŒ by colouring in some lovely pictures and exploring the sensory tuff tray with colourful rice and talking all about the world around us.
We did some discovering whilst outside too and talked about our environment- we had a list of things we could see in the garden and went on a hunt for the things that were on our list. We collected lots of things and were very proud of the things we found such as twigs leaves and branches ๐Ÿ’

We have been getting messy in lots of paint using different tools-we made some sheep using sponges for their fluffy body, this was definitely one of our favourites! We also enjoyed paint and cars in our tuff tray, using our fine and large motor skills to make tracks in the paint. We loved looking at the marks the cars made afterwards. ๐ŸŽจ

Another fun activity we enjoyed getting messy and creative with was shaving foam in the water! ๐Ÿ’ฆWe added some orange, petals and glitter into the water so we could explore lots of different textures.

Wow what a fun week Lily pads have had ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅฐwe have partaken in some lovely crafts and activities ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

We have been celebrating Earth day ๐ŸŒŽ talking about our wonderful world and other beautiful things we have on earth such as ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ›๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒป we explored an illuminated world gloop tuff tray that glowed in the dark when we turned the lights off ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

We also did some tie dye, we placed our blue and green tissue paper on the Earth pictures and sprayed water on them ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š later when they had dried we peeled the tissue paper off and they left beautiful patterns on the paper โ˜บ๏ธ We painted some paper plates blue and green to create an earth ๐ŸŒ doing dabs to create the look and weโ€™re later going to add a little something like our cheeky smiles to make up your worlds ๐Ÿฅฐ

We have had a lovely time being out in the garden as well, riding the bikes ๐Ÿšฒ and playing kick about with the football โšฝ๏ธ the sun has been shining lovely so fingers crossed for the same again next week ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿคž

Our little lilypad's have had a super fun couple of weeks, here's what they got up to.....

They had a fantastic time enjoying the beautiful sunshine โ˜€๏ธ they had a splash about in the mud kitchen and tuff trays outside ๐Ÿ’ฆ They even helped to cut the grass which was a big team effort ๐Ÿ’ช

They explored and learnt about our animals and their habitats and noises they make, and they all took part in making an animal tuff tray where the animals were in their own styled area ๐Ÿšœ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿท๐Ÿฎ

They have also been exploring mystical unicorns, searching for them outside in the garden and decorating our own. The unicorn land soon got turned into unicorn sand but that didnโ€™t stop them enjoying the feel of the sand and building unicorn castles! Next week they will be taking a break from unicorns to celebrate Earth day!

๐Ÿฆ„What a magical unicorn week the children have had in nursery this week!

All the children have enjoyed dressing up and getting creative by painting or drawing colourful unicorn pictures and masks!๐Ÿฆ„

They have enjoyed the glorious weather in the gardens again- (don't forget your hats and sun cream as it will hopefully stick around) ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‘’
Our new baby garden is taking shape too so they will hopefully have their own space to explore with their friends.

They have also been busy baking some yummy cupcakes, the children have loved mixing and talking about what they could see, and what ingredients to put in ๐ŸงThe favourite part was eating them๐Ÿฐ

Some of the boys enjoyed an engaging dinosaur play tray. They explored different textures and worked together to share the resources. Well done boys! ๐Ÿฆ–

The Dragonfly's children have been getting creative!

To start the week off we enjoyed doing some gardening. We were planting some carrots, we talked about what colour the carrots were and how they will grow after we have planted the seeds ๐Ÿฅ•

Then we developed our mathematic skills by counting the chicks and matching them to the correct number, the children really enjoyed looking and counting on their fingers how many chicks they could see. ๐Ÿฃ

Then we painted some Easter eggs and made some wonderful pictures using some stickers. (This was definitely a favourite.) The children enjoyed peeling the stickers and looking at all the beautiful colours.

Finally we made some delicious chocolate nests to take home and some Easter cards we hope you enjoyed them. The children loved mixing the mixture and putting the filling in the cases. Yummy ๐Ÿ˜‹

Stay tuned for more Dragonfly fun! ๐Ÿ˜Š

The babies enjoyed a range of fun Easter-themed activities too that supported both their physical and emotional development.

We started with an Easter egg hunt, where the babies explored their environment to find hidden eggs. This activity encouraged movement such as crawling, walking, and reaching, helping to develop their gross motor skills.

The babies also made Easter chocolate nests....yum yum. We have fun mixing the ingredients and getting all messy!

We also explored Easter-themed colourful rice. The babies loved feeling, scooping, and pouring the rice, which supported their sensory development as well as their fine motor skills.

Overall, it has been a joyful and engaging week full of learning through play.

It was so hard to choose between them all but we finally selected a winner from each room shown in the pictures below.

CONGRATULATIONS! There is a chocolately suprise waiting for the winners in the office ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿซ

We can't wait to see next years entries ๐Ÿ˜

We've been on a walk to the park this morning :) we walked sensibly in pairs and did good listening when we got to the roads.

On our way there we saw a tractor at the other side of the field but on our way back it was a lot closer. It was a big, green noisy tractor and it had made lots of funny tracks in the mud with its huge tyres.

Whilst at the park we enjoyed climbing and running around with our friends, enjoying the fresh air. We had to take turns on some of the equipment too.

In the Fidgety Frogs room they have been focusing on spring and Easter ๐ŸฃThey did an Easter egg hunt to find all the different coloured eggs hiding in the garden. The children really enjoyed this and kept asking to hide them again and again ๐Ÿซฃ.

They also spoke about all the different baby animals that maybe born soon like lambs, chicks ๐Ÿฅ and ducklings. This lead to the children wanting to play farm yards, so they got their creative heads on and made a farm out of all the things they could find in the room.

The children spent a lot of time outside again too. The children loved bug hunting and collecting all the different mini beasts they could find in the garden. I wonder if you can guess what we found. ๐Ÿ› ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ ๐Ÿž ๐Ÿชฑ

Last week in the baby room, we took part in Epilepsy Awareness Week. The children came dressed in purple, helping to raise awareness in a fun and meaningful way. Throughout the week, the babies explored a variety of sensory activities, including playing with purple gloop, engaging with purple-themed toys, and enjoying purple-coloured rice alongside flowers. These activities encouraged curiosity, creativity, and sensory development. The children had lots of fun exploring different textures and colours in a calm and engaging environment.

This week, we are looking forward to celebrating Easter. We have planned a range of egg-citing Easter themed activities and crafts for the children to enjoy, helping to support their creativity and early learning through play.
