🐾 Max 🐾 Max is 9-months old, a Cockapoo with a BIG personality ♥️

He’s energetic, active, incredibly loving &, at times, very jumpy, excitable & a giddy pants!

Mum & Dad have already done some amazing things with Max, & it really shows. Well done to you both! 👏🏼 It’s clear how much time, effort & love you’ve already invested in him.

At 9 months old, Max is also right in the middle of canine adolescence, a fascinating developmental stage where hormonal & neurological changes can influence emotional regulation, impulse control, responsiveness & behaviour. In other words… a hormonal canine teenager 🧠 🐕

For Max, we’re working on:

✨ Managing his over-excitability & arousal
✨ Learning how to switch off & settle
✨ Managing his excited barking & giddiness
✨ Developing better impulse control
✨ Continuing to build his confidence

Because underneath all that enthusiasm, Max can actually be quite shy, nervous & cautious at times.

So this isn’t simply about teaching Max to “calm down”. Understanding why his arousal increases & helping him develop confidence, emotional regulation & appropriate coping skills is going to be really important.

And Max has SO much potential! ♥️
With the right support, consistency & positive learning experiences, we can help this energetic, loving young Cockapoo develop into a more confident, settled & emotionally resilient adult dog 🐾

I’m really looking forward to seeing Max’s progress!

🍂🐾 HARVEST MITES — BE AWARE 🐾🍂

Harvest mite (the larvae of Trombicula autumnalis) season is here! These tiny orange, red mites can cause intense itching, irritation & discomfort for dogs, particularly after walks through long grass, woodland & areas of vegetation.

🐶 Help reduce the risk:
• Avoid areas of long, overgrown grass
• Check your dog after walks- on the paws, ears, belly & between the toes
• Wash & wipe these areas after walks to remove any present mites
• Keep grass in your garden short
• If your dog becomes very itchy or develops red, irritated skin, speak to your vet

⚠️ Harvest mites can be difficult to spot, so don’t ignore sudden or unusual itching.

Prevention + early attention can help keep your dog comfortable this autumn 🍁🐕‍🦺
