SUCCESS AT ST.JOSEPH'S

Last week saw our wonderful Year 1 children sit their Phonics Screening Check. We are delighted to share with everyone that 93% of the class passed this national test, which is the highest score we have ever achieved. The national average is 81% so to be considerably higher than this is a fantastic achievement.

Well done to the Year 1 teaching staff for working incredibly hard all year to help prepare the children, a really big thank you to all of our parents and carers for supporting at home and of course, a massive congratulations to all the children in Year 1 for achieving their full potential.

The Year 4 children also sat their Multiplication Tables Check last week and again, we saw a St. Joseph's record broken! The national average score is 21 out of 25 marks, so it is a brilliant achievement to have a St. Joseph's average of 23.7%. What's more, a whopping 23 children achieved 100%, which is the highest number of children achieving full marks we have ever had. Well done, Year 4!

Thank you to Miss Jones and Mrs Wild for teaching our Year 4 children so expertly all year and thank you to parents and carers for encouraging many a session of TTRS at home! We are so proud of all of our Year 4 children, who have been determined to become Rock Heroes and have mastered their times tables as a result.

Thanks Mrs Courtney
