The School Games Mark is a government led awards scheme to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.
We have recently been awarded the Gold Award, having demonstrated excellence in each of the four key areas:
Participation – The number of young people, at our school, that are engaged in sporting activity.
Competition – The number of different sports that are being played and how many competitions we have entered.
Workforce – The number of pupils that are involved in leadership activities alongside taking part in competitions.
Clubs – The number of local links we have with clubs or establishments in the community.
Huge congratulations to all the children, and staff, for achieving this amazing award! A particular congratulations to Mr Stallard for leading the School PE to this award

Well done to our very own Miss Houghton and Miss Smith who have successfully completed their 13 mile trek in the peaks today to raise money for the alzheimers society. Not only is it an amazing achievement but more so in this heat.

🌞 Important Hot Weather Update 🌞
Dear Parents/Carers,
After closely monitoring the weather forecast, temperatures are predicted to reach 34°C today. With this in mind, we would like to offer you the option to collect your child early at 1:30pm if you feel this is best.
Please be assured that we will remain open as normal and will be doing everything we can to keep the children as cool, safe, and comfortable as possible throughout the day.
This decision has not been taken lightly, and we appreciate your understanding and support.
The children have showed lots of resilience over the last few days but we also appreciate children aren’t sleeping well in the heat
Our planned water fight will still go ahead this morning, while it is a little cooler, so the children can still enjoy this activity.
If you do wish to collect your child early, please let us know.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.

📣 We Need Your Support – Aspirations Week!
We’re excited to share that during the week beginning 7th September, our school will be hosting our very first Aspirations Week! 🌟
Throughout the week, we hope to inspire our pupils by introducing them to a wide range of careers and opportunities. To make this happen, we’re looking for volunteers from different job roles to come in and talk about:💬 What you do day-to-day💬 How you got into your career💬 What you enjoy about your job
If you’re available during that week — especially on Thursday — and would be happy to speak with our pupils, we would love to hear from you!
Your support could make a real difference in helping our children dream big and think about their futures. 💡
📩 Please get in touch if you’re interested or would like to find out more.
Thank you in advance for your support! 🙌

Year 5 Parents
Today we have invited our Year 5 children to apply to become Playground Leaders. This is a fantastic opportunity for them to develop confidence, responsibility and leadership skills.
Children selected for the role will receive training and will begin leading activities for other pupils in September.
This is an important and rewarding role within our school community, so please take a moment to talk with your child and see if they are interested in applying.
Application forms are available from Mrs Wainer.
