🍁Easter Holidays🍁

We would like to wish our Maple community a very happy Easter. School will be closed for the Easter break after today and back open Monday 15th April.

🍁Tree Planting at Maple🍁
Today Maple took part in the Free School Trees Project via Doncaster Council. Our pupils did a fab job at digging and planting new trees around our grounds.

One of our ex-pupils visited school today to share some very exciting news. Ben has secured a place at university from September 2024. We are all so proud of you Ben! Congratulations!

SCHOOL CLOSURE

Due to the current weather conditions we have decided to close school early. A text has been sent to all parents. Transport have been informed for all of those who have a taxi. We are in the process of contacting parents who collect their children.

A text message and facebook post will be sent out in the morning if we are remaining closed. If you hear nothing, we are open as usual.

🍁Be a great reading partner!🍁

It’s no fun to read when you’re forced to or feel embarrassed to read. Building trust and supporting a child reader is crucial as a reading partner.
Here are some tips for becoming a great reading partner:
· Be patient and encouraging.
· Ask questions about the story while your child is reading to gauge comprehension.
· Make sure the books are at the right level for your child. 5+ mistakes on one page is too hard. No mistakes or only one mistake per page is too easy.
· Gently correct mistakes and re-read the entire sentence.
· Give positive feedback and tell your child he or she is doing a great job.

🍁Fundraising🍁

Steph completed the Alton Towers "Run the Towers" back in November and managed to raise a huge £1237!

Steph chose to share her fundraising efforts between the National Autistic Society and our school! Here she is presenting a cheque for £618.50. This money is being put to great use in the purchasing of Science required practical equipment (at Steph's request) to benefit future Maple pupils.

Maple will be closed Friday 22nd December at 1pm. Transport for those who require it has been organised to collect at this time.
