Celebrating National Poetry Day!

Our scholars brought The Charge of the Light Brigade to life with plenty of energy, confidence and gusto!

A brilliant way to celebrate the power of poetry and performance.

At Woodfields, reading isn't just a lesson - it's a daily habit, built through our Reciprocal Reading approach and Apollo reading time. That habit has already produced a poetry award-winner among our students this year, and we couldn't be prouder.

Some of our Class of 2030 scholars spent yesterday afternoon at the Doncaster Futures Fair. They took part in immersive VR workshops and interactive presentations, gaining valuable insight into their options once they finish their time at Woodfields.

Our scholars demonstrated their curiosity as they explored all the event had to offer. Making the most of this fantastic opportunity.

Outstanding commitment from our Year 11 History scholars! Twenty-four attended our first Saturday revision session, giving up their morning to prepare for their exams.

A huge thank you to Mrs Roe for giving up her time to support them. It was wonderful to see so many scholars investing in their futures.

Our scholars got stuck straight into some hands-on science after school today, making their very own batteries using fruit and vegetables.

They then put their creations to the test, measuring the voltage they were able to generate.

It was a very early start, but well worth it as our scholars enjoyed a fantastic day in London visiting the Houses of Parliament.

They learned about the fascinating history of the Palace of Westminster and discovered more about how laws are made.

Our scholars also took part in a workshop exploring how to create a petition and how they can make their voices heard and help bring about change.

We even had the opportunity to visit one of the UK’s most famous addresses, 10 Downing Street.

A brilliant day filled with history, politics and learning beyond the classroom.

Our drama students, choir and flautists worked incredibly hard tonight, getting creative with a new piece at the end of the evening.

Could we be taking flutes to the Globe this year? Watch this space
