This week we saw our Year 5 pupils head off on their residential visit to Hatfield Moors. They enjoyed a range of exciting activities, including rock climbing, paddle boarding, zip wire over the lake and campfires. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to challenge themselves, build confidence and create lasting memories with their friends.
Huge thank you to all the staff who made this happen, especially Mrs McConnell. They all deserve a well-earned rest!

*Year 1 trip to Conisbrough Castle*
Year 1 have had a fantastic day at Conisbrough Castle today. We enjoyed our Meet the Medievals workshop where we learned about the history of the castle, the people who lived there and made a timeline to show how old the castle is. We also got involved in some role-play to welcome our King to the castle (more photos to follow!) This afternoon, we explored the castle grounds and climbed to the very top of the tower! The children were wonderful and an absolute credit to BSW! π°

Year 1 Forest School
Who likes muddy puddles!? Year 1 like muddy puddles!
It is safe to say that the children had a blast during their last forest school session and they have amazed me with how they get stuck into any activity. They were to free to explore and have undertaken activities such as wand making, creating their own potions, investigating the pool and looking for the tadpoles, going on a bug hunt and last (but definitely not least!!) taking a mud bath. π€

Good luck to all of our Year 6 children this week during your SATs. We know how hard you have worked to get to this point, but remember these tests are just one small part of your journey. Your resilience, determination and positive attitude have shone through every step of the way β now itβs your time to shine.
Stay calm, believe in yourselves and do your very best. We are all incredibly proud of you already. π

David Attenborough turns 100! π₯³
Happy Birthday to such a wonderful man who continues to show us how truly amazing our planet is and how we should always show kindness to the fascinating nature around us.
To celebrate his special birthday, we have been involved in a live assembly about the man himself. Also during their forest school session this week - our year ones have used nature to decorate this montage that was proudly displayed outside school today.

Today in Maths, Year 1 made their own clock face in teams using Numicon to represent each hour. We have started practicing counting each hour as we moved around our clock and then created our own clock faces outside using chalks on the playground. We will be moving on to telling the time to o'clock and half past using analogue clocks. βοΈ

Year 1 Science
This afternoon, the children planted their own seeds. They looked at what a plant needed in order to grow and are looking forward to observing changes to their plant over the coming weeks.
