Can’t. Tek. Sh*t. Seriously

I’ve tried over the years, I’ve tried to be like the rest of Instagram but I just can’t do it. I can’t take myself seriously, I can’t pose, I feel a t**t and to be quite frank, I’m just not aesthetically pleasing.

I tried to market myself as this professional clean girl aesthetic, but while I know my s**t when it comes to nails, I’m common as muck and I’m the least kept together person.

So here I am, no hairs no hair no graces, exactly how I am in person. ✌🏽

This one needs saying.

We’ve all done it. Posted that 6 week old set because it makes us look good. Clients are impressed, brands repost it, everyone’s happy.

Until it backfires.

Because what happens when you’ve trained your clients to expect 6+ weeks and their nails lift at 3? They’re not blaming the wear time. They’re blaming you.

And now you’ve got a feed full of content that contradicts the very advice you’re giving in the chair.

I didn’t think about the knock on effect for years. More regrowth, more structural work, clients coming half as often so you need twice as many to fill your books. The maths stops mathing real quick.

I’m not saying don’t post them. I’m saying change the narrative around them. Educate alongside the flex. Your content should match what you’re telling your clients, not confuse them.

Been there, done it, got the XXL T-shirt 🖤

If this made you think twice, send it to a tech who needs to hear it 💌

Here’s a roundup of some of my favourite quirky nail sets. Perfect if you’re heading to a festival and need some inspo 🎪✨

Which one’s your fave? I think mine are the Frank Turner FTHC. Save this for when you’re booking your festival appointment 💅

EYUP, I’d like to reintroduce myself. 🫶🏼

I took some time away from Instagram and I’m back. Fully me this time. No forcing content, no performing, just enjoying creating again.

I want to take the industry back to the fun days and I’m doing that by living in my own bubble. I’m hoping you’ll come join me.

I’m honest, I’ll never lie and I don’t beat around the bush. I’ve worked in salons, had my own, worked for brands, done NDA deals, the lot. I’ve seen this industry at every level and watched it fall into a really dark place over the last few years. It dragged me down with it.

So I had two choices. Find the reason I fell in love with it, or let it push me out.

I’m still here. So that tells you everything.

If you want honest real talk, no BS, and the most random life then hit that follow button. You won’t be bored ✨

Normalise wearing whatever you want at the nail desk. Some days I’ll be in smart trousers and the next I’ll be in sports leggings and an oversized tee. Some days I need to walk Alan before work and on lunch, so I’m not getting changed 4 times a day just to look cute.

I protect my clothes with an apron. No matter how cute or scruffy I look. None of my clients have ever complained about the way I look and if some have in the past then they were never for me.

I’m about practicality and comfort. Not trying to be the best Instagram version of myself 🫶🏼🖤
