🚴‍♀️🎃 October’s Rock-Up ’N’ Ride Routes Are Here! 🎃🚴‍♂️

Autumn is here, the leaves are changing and we've got five fantastic Rock-Up ’N’ Rides lined up for October! 🍂🚲

Whether you're new to cycling, bringing the family, looking for a social ride or fancy exploring somewhere new, there's a ride for everyone! 🙌

📅 Saturday 3rd – Family Ride 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
A relaxed, shorter route that's perfect for families and anyone wanting to build their confidence on two wheels.

📅 Saturday 10th – Bentley 🌳
Join us as we head out towards Bentley, making the most of Doncaster's local cycling network.

📅 Saturday 17th – Bessacarr 🚲
A friendly and social ride exploring Bessacarr and the surrounding area.

📅 Saturday 24th – Markham Grange 🌿
A great opportunity to get out, enjoy the scenery and explore another of our favourite local routes.

📅 Saturday 31st – 🎃 HALLOWEEN RIDE! 👻
Get your costumes ready! We're heading out towards Rossington for a spooky-themed Rock-Up ’N’ Ride. 🧙‍♀️🕷️🦇

🚲 No bike? No problem – borrow one of ours! Bikes and helmets are available free of charge, although availability is limited. Please arrive early if you need to borrow one so we have time to get you comfortably sized up and safety checked.

💧🍎 Every participant can also enjoy water and a healthy snack when we return to the workshop, as part of our pledge for a healthier Doncaster.

Been thinking about getting into cycling? This Saturday could be the perfect opportunity to give it a go! 🙌

Our Family Rock-Up ’N’ Ride is a gentle 5–7 mile loop, mainly traffic-free and designed to be relaxed, friendly and enjoyable. 🚲💚

We'll make our way through the local cycle network before stopping at the ever-popular Annabel’s Café for a well-deserved break. ☕🍰

Don't worry, we've got a ride for you too! Our longer loop out to Tickhill is ideal for more advanced riders and includes some quiet country roads. 🌳🚲

🚲 No bike? No problem!

Bikes and helmets can be provided FREE of charge, although availability is limited. If you're borrowing a bike, please arrive in plenty of time so we can get you properly sized up and safety checked before the ride sets off.

We know that Saturday sessions don’t work for everyone. Work, family commitments and busy weekends can make it difficult to find the time to learn those all-important bike maintenance skills.

So, we’re asking you… 👇

If there’s enough interest, we’ll look at the logistics and find a date that works for as many people as possible. It could be a great chance to learn alongside friends, family or colleagues and build the confidence to deal with common bike problems yourself. 🔧💪

🚲🔥 What a fantastic day at Doncaster BMX Track! 🔥🚲

We had a brilliant time delivering a Dr Bike session at Doncaster BMX Track in Balby on Saturday! 🔧🚲

It was great to see so many people getting involved in BMX racing, and we even got to witness a bunny hop competition! 🐰🚴‍♂️💨

A huge thank you to Doncaster BMX Club for having us and for giving us the opportunity to support such a fantastic local cycling community. 💚

And a big shout-out to Cycling UK for funding our attendance and helping us bring our Dr Bike service to more riders. 🙌

We had a brilliant day out exploring Sherwood Pines, enjoying some fantastic trails, plenty of miles and, of course, lots of laughs along the way! 🌳🚲

🚴‍♀️🌿 Rock-Up ’N’ Ride – RSPB Old Moor - 9am Departure!🌿🚴‍♂️

Fancy a longer ride this Saturday? Join us for a relaxed, primarily traffic-free adventure along the Trans Pennine Trail to RSPB Old Moor! 🚲🌳

We'll be enjoying the scenery, fresh air and great company as we make our way along the trail. This is one of our longer Rock-Up ’N’ Rides, so we're giving ourselves a little extra time to enjoy the journey.

🚲💚 Another Batch of Bikes Ready to Make a Difference! 💚🚲

Our incredible volunteers have been hard at work in the workshop, and another batch of donated bikes has now been fully refurbished and is ready to be distributed by our delivery partners to people in need. 🔧♻️

But this is about so much more than just the bikes…

👏 Thank you to our amazing volunteers for giving their time, skills and enthusiasm.

🚲 Thank you to everyone who donates bikes, giving unwanted cycles a second chance and helping keep them out of landfill.

🛍️ And thank you to everyone who shops with us, because the money raised through our workshop sales and services helps us continue our work in the local community.

It’s fantastic to see the whole community coming together — donors, volunteers, customers and delivery partners — all playing their part in helping get bikes to those who need them. 💚

Together, we really can make a difference, one bike at a time. 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Even small changes to how we travel can make a difference. Whether it’s cycling to work, walking to the shops, taking public transport, or simply leaving the car at home for a few journeys, every little bit helps! 🌱

Here at Yorkshire Bike Shack, we try to practise what we preach. 🚲❤️

From cycling to work to nipping to the shops for milk, we use our bikes and walk as often as we can and do our bit whenever possible.
