🌟Year 6 Residential 🌟
The Year 6 Residential trip is something children look forward to throughout their entire school career at Waverley. It is a great chance for our oldest pupils to challenge themselves and gain
independence before starting secondary school. Children completed a huge variety of activities from orienteering and archery to rock climbing, water sports, and lots more!

Last week, children were selected to take part in an Astrea Dragonball Event, held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. It was a fantastic occasion where children fostered team spirit, and competed in a sporting environment against other schools. All children had a brilliant attitude and thoroughly enjoyed the event.

Today in assembly we have been thinking about keeping ourselves safe online. We used the story , to think about ‘doing things for likes’ and that things we post online, stay there. We talked about being kind and not sharing personal information. .

We are delighted to be hosting Active Fusion this February Half Term. They are running sports and activities camps each day, from 9am- 3pm. Places are £10 per day, or £5 per day for children eligible for Free School Meals.

Our School Nurse, Charlene, visited Oak Class this week, to explain to children the importance of brushing teeth and dental hygiene🦷

They then started our brand new Tooth Brushing Club. This club is for us to support children with brushing their teeth regularly. We will do this in a fun way every morning. All children in Reception will have their own tooth brush in school.

Oak class did brilliantly, with all children following the steps carefully for healthy, sparkling teeth 🦷✨ Doncaster Zone 5-19

Today is the last day to apply for a place in Reception class. Whether your child already attends our Nursery setting, or you are interested in your child starting with us this September, please ensure you apply by today to avoid disappointment

Applications to Reception and Junior School (Year 3) for September 2025 are now open!📚🍎

Reception and junior school admission rounds are open. Parents will be sent a letter encouraging them to make their application before the closing date of 15 January 2025.

Applications for all community schools, academies and church schools should be made online using Doncaster’s admissions webpage: www.doncaster.gov.uk/admissions

The national closing date is 15 January 2025 and the announcement date is 16 April 2025. All applications made by this date will be considered together.

There are a large number of pupils within this cohort this year so those who apply late after this closing date are less likely to be offered a place at one of their preferred schools.

Yesterday Year 6 pupils visited the Lifewise Centre for their Crucial Crew trip. There, they took part in scenario based activities teaching a variety of life skills, from fire and road safety, to anti-social behaviour and first aid.

In doing this, Elder Class gained a fantastic insight into careers in the fire service, police and justice system and more. Pupils even had the opportunity to sit in a model court, hear a case presented by their peers and decide the outcome!

We have had a magical Christmas at Waverley. From Santa's Grotto and Christmas performances, to parties, raffle prizes and Christmas dinner, we have enjoyed every moment 🎄✨

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas across school. 🎄🎅🏼 There is definitely Christmas magic in the air.
