You know Bob the builder and all his friends. Doing 10+ nappies a day is the norm.You know all nursery rhymes & songs.You have perfected 'the look' when a child missbehaves.You can get 4+ children to sleep within 20minutes.You find yourself saying 'I'm not going to tell you again' then repeating it 5 minutes later. The word OFSTED sends panic through you even though you know you'll be fine. If you haven't got paint/glue/some form of messy play in your hair or on your clothes, then it hasn't been a very successful day. After a long hard day you hate it when your friends say "Why are you so tired, you only play all day"Two words.. Potty training.
You can recite "we're going on a bear hunt... we're going to catch a big one.. we're not scared..." without even a glance at the book. You say 'oh dear, how sad' on a daily basis. You flinch when someone says 'naughty' but then you realise that in the real world it isnt a FORBIDDEN word!!You can make up games on the spot.You are aware that "twinkle twinkle little star" and the alphabet have the same tune.You have 8 pairs of shoes and know which shoes belong to who.You love playing outside as much as the children.You care for the children as if they were your own cuddling them, playing with them and teaching them.
At the end of the day you look like you've been dragged through a hedge backwards and stamped on by a heard of elephants, despite starting the day in pristine condition less than 12 hours earlier!Alcohol is a must have at the weekends. love working with children and wouldn't change it! ❤💖💙👶🍼👌

Dear Parent/carer

As we settle into a new academic year, we would like to thank you for your continued support.

As you will know, many of the measures that were in place during the last school year, such as bubbles, are no longer required to operate in settings for 2021. However, we are still working hard to keep our settings as COVID safe as possible, and we need your support to do this.

Firstly, should your child be showing any symptoms of COVID-19 can you please book them in for a PCR test and keep them at home until you receive your results. A reminder that Lateral Flow Tests should not be used on symptomatic children (or children under 11 in general) and a result from an LFT will not be accepted by our setting if your child has COVID-19 symptoms.

Although children no longer need to isolate if another member of their household tests positive, can we remind you that a person who has tested positive should not be leaving their house to bring their child to the setting. If you are in a situation where all adults in the house are positive and want to discuss options, then please contact us directly.

We will continue to encourage children to exercise good hand hygiene in our setting and we would ask you to reaffirm this at home, it really is our best defence against not only COVID but the other winter viruses that are circulating at this time.

We are continuing to work closely with Doncaster Council and the Public Health team locally, should rates locally start to rise to a worrying level or should the setting experience an outbreak we will be taking advice from Doncaster Public Health colleagues on the best way to manage this.

Once again, we are facing a strange start to the school year, but we believe that if we work together, we can make sure that the children are safe, happy and productive.
