How can schools and universities support WildLife Foundation? 💚

Education plays a crucial role in shaping the future of wildlife conservation, and we love seeing young conservationists take action!

Schools and universities can support WildLife Foundation in many ways - From fundraising and awareness campaigns on climate change and endangered species to hands-on projects that get the whole class involved.

🦏 One of our standout partners is Harrison College in Doncaster, which provides education and employability training for students with autism and special educational needs. With a rhino as their emblem, they have become one of the biggest champions of Rocco’s Challenge - our appeal inspired by the birth of baby rhino Rocco at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Harrison College has raised hundreds of pounds for Rocco’s Challenge through activities such as competitions, fundraisers, and sponsored walks. Starting last June, Harrison College also visited primary schools in the local area and hosted a series of ‘Rocco Roadshows.’ These workshops educated students on the threats facing rhinos while also helping those with learning difficulties develop core skills in planning and communication.

Building on this success, the college plans to host another four Rocco Roadshows by the end of the academic year and is looking for more schools to collaborate with. If your school would love to support WildLife Foundation while inspiring the next generations, this is the perfect opportunity!

A heartbreaking setback for Harrison College
Last night, Harrison College experienced a devastating blow when all three of out minibuses, essential for transporting our students, were stolen. As a small, independent education provider this loss is deeply saddening and frustrating. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to create opportunities for students but acts like these threaten to derail our efforts.
Thankyou to our supporters
We're incredibly grateful for the rapid response from Police and Constant Security Services and for the extraordinary kindness of our partners. A heartfelt thankyou to Darren Lord and David Chilvers of Clarks Vehicle Conversions, who have stepped in during this crisis by lending us a 9 seater vehicle to ensure our students can continue their work for the remainder of the term. Your generosity and support embody the true spirit of community. This is what humanity looks like - lifting each other up, not taking from those striving to make a change and do the right thing. While we trust in the insurance process to help us rebuild, the road ahead will be challenging without large reserves or investors to fall back on. But, our resolve is unshaken. Tomorrow, will continue with renewed determination to help our students take strides towards their futures. Thankyou to everyone for standing with us at this difficult time. Together we move forward and

Ronny the Rhino Harrison College had a spook-tacular time at Yorkshire Wildlife Park this morning, meeting the children (and children at heart) training a dragon and watching the Halloween panto. Thankyou to everyone that met Ronny and donated to the WildLife Foundation to support the Rocco Challenge and the Rhino International.
Remember, if you met Ronny and took a photo, tag Harrison College into your post and you will be entered into the draw for 4 tickets to the Family Fun Day at Doncaster Racecourse and Exhibition Centre on 29th December 2024.
