Mattersey presented 'Sir David Hattenscarf and the wonders of the world' for our end of year show 😁

At Mattersey, we feel very proud of our results in all areas across school. We have been celebrating our SATS results, as well as our Early Years and times tables results.

We are most proud of our phonics results this year increasing to 83%. This puts us above national scores. A huge well done to all the children.

On Monday, we attended Sing Out at Doncaster Dome. The children were simply FABULOUS!! They showed off all their amazing singing and dance moves 😁

Last week, The Hive class had a great time on their residential at PGL. They participated in problem solving activities and orienteering, and they had fun on the climbing walls and zip wires 😁 They were so brave!!

As part of our RE learning, Burrow class had a wonderful wedding today 😊 Our bride and groom scrubbed up well and everyone enjoyed the celebration.

What a busy week at Mattersey! 😊

At the beginning of the week, we had a wonderful Science afternoon where children learned about carbonic acid, built skeletons and bodies with organs, and had paper aeroplane competitions. We also had a Science shop which was a huge success!

We have also celebrated British Sign Language week. We joined in a signed story and learned some new signs for animals and fruit. Children have also found Easter posters around school challenging them to learn new Easter signs. A super effort by all!

Today, we visited our local church for our annual Easter service with Reverend Becky. The singing from the children was their usual fantastic and enthusiastic standard. Well done! A special mention to those in Year 6 whose reading performance was outstanding.
