As part of our RE learning, Burrow class had a wonderful wedding today 😊 Our bride and groom scrubbed up well and everyone enjoyed the celebration.

What a busy week at Mattersey! 😊

At the beginning of the week, we had a wonderful Science afternoon where children learned about carbonic acid, built skeletons and bodies with organs, and had paper aeroplane competitions. We also had a Science shop which was a huge success!

We have also celebrated British Sign Language week. We joined in a signed story and learned some new signs for animals and fruit. Children have also found Easter posters around school challenging them to learn new Easter signs. A super effort by all!

Today, we visited our local church for our annual Easter service with Reverend Becky. The singing from the children was their usual fantastic and enthusiastic standard. Well done! A special mention to those in Year 6 whose reading performance was outstanding.

Our younger children have been enjoying their topic on 'Superheroes/People who help us.'

We have had lots of SUPER visitors into school and we have watched lots of videos and had interviews with different superheroes/people who help us.

Thank you to all these lovely people who took time to help us to understand their job roles. We asked lots of questions, tried on lots of different outfits, and learned some sign language.
