P6 pupils had great fun creating self-portraits, exploring facial symmetry and proportion as they carefully sketched their features. Using oil pastels, they brought their drawings to life with colour, shade and tone.

We are delighted with the creativity, effort and individuality shown in each unique piece of work. Do you recognise anyone? 🎨🫟🖌️

Good Luck to our Fabulous Dance Team tonight at the Golden Dance Awards NI where they are finalist in the category of Primary school at the year. Such a difficult category but such a privilege even to be nominated and we are so very proud of all our dance team has achieved in their very first year. You are all our winners no matter what. ⭐️

Dear Parents and Families,

We are pleased to share our School Development Plan (SDP) 2026-27: At a Glance with you. Every three years, we work together to create a School Development Plan that sets out our priorities for improving the experiences and outcomes of all children. This year represents Year 2 of our 2025-28 School Development Plan.

This parent-friendly summary highlights some of the key developments and priorities for the year ahead, including:

Embedding our new motto "Learning, Caring and Growing Together" and our school values.
Continuing to promote our Ready, Respectful, Safe expectations.
Enhancing teaching and learning through initiatives such as Reading Eggs, outdoor learning, Early Talk Boost in Nursery, and new PE programmes.
Expanding pupil leadership opportunities and strengthening pupil voice.
Developing leadership, SEN provision, and community partnerships.
Continuing to build strong links with parents, families and the wider Donaghadee community.

We had a great time getting to grips with our new reading eggs during ICT. It is such a great resource for engaging with reading in a helpful and enjoyable way. Please keep taking time to logon and use it during home learning!

Some things we enjoyed were:

We were delighted to welcome *Waffle the guide dog* to our school assembly today with Christine and Ken 🐶

The children loved meeting Waffle and learning all about the important job guide dogs do, helping their owners to live more independently and confidently.

A huge thank you to Waffle and his owner Ken for coming to visit us and making our assembly so special. We learned lots, had plenty of smiles, and Waffle was definitely the star of the show! 🐾

Today we launched our Walk, Wheel & Cycle Trust programme

It is important to have a healthy and active lifestyle.
KS2 learned about scooting and cycling to school safely. 🚴🛴🚶‍♀️

We will soon be learning how to maintain our bicycles and how to stay safe when outside of school.
