Happily, there is still time to book your place on our Drawing & Painting The Sussex Landscape Course on August 29th & 30th at The Red Studio, Emerson College, Forest Row. This will be a fabulous opportunity to learn from a hard worked practising contemporary artist. We hope to see you there.

An absolutely marvellous two days with Louise Balaam Louise Balaam RWA NEAC was had on our Expressive Landscape Painting workshop this week. The weather was warm, but not overly hot and there were plentiful clouds creating interesting skyscapes, from which to work. We are delighted to announce our first Landscape Painting course with the incredibly talented Kai Ohlsen KOHLSEN this August. This one day course will guide students through making fresh characterful paintings with a focus on self-abandon to allow loose and expressive mark making. Free from the limitations of size, students will be encouraged to experiment with expanding your initial drawings to achieve a greater sense of scale and space. There will be a strong emphasis on working from direct observation, exploring colour relationships, and understanding the importance of drawing as a foundation for developing larger works in oils. Join us for Drawing & Painting the Sussex Landscape with Tom Scotcher on August 29th & 30th. We can't wait!

We had a delightful time on our Landscape Painting course with Tim Benson last week in brilliant sunshine.

It was an honour and pleasure to see these paintings by Andrew James during a studio visit recently. The power, authenticity and astuteness is palpable when one views these works. A quality which really stays with you.
