28th April, 2023- A day that we will all treasure for a long time yet.

Today we celebrated not only the Coronation of King Charles III, but also our wonderful students, who enjoyed their last day at Riddlesworth Hall.

Thank you to Mrs. Putt, our kitchen staff, parents and maintenance team who organised a beautiful street party lunch for an early coronation celebration, and to our wonderful RHSA for organising an amazing afternoon, complete with funfair, for our children to enjoy.

We wish our students, Parents and Riddlesworth families success and happiness as you continue on to your next adventure. You are in our hearts, always, and we will forever look back on our time at the school with fondness and the happiest of memories.

“Though we have to say farewell
This won’t be the end.
I’ll think about you all the time
And always call you friend.
We’ll write, we’ll call, we’ll remember
and it won’t be so bad.
Our memories will help us smile
and we won’t feel so sad.”

Our final Camp Out at Riddlesworth Hall; a proud tradition that has been a firm favourite of the children for many years. We are so proud of all the children, after what has been a very emotional week they have shown, yet again, what it means to be a Riddlesworth girl and boy.

A small snapshot of the awesome fun the children had on their Adventure Day last Friday. After walking every day in February to raise the money, they got to enjoy lots of fun activities such as archery, laser tag and even toasting marshmallows. They had a real blast of a day!

After 76 wonderful years, It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the closure of Riddlesworth Hall School on Friday, 28th April 2023.

What treasured memories we have created over the years and how lucky we all feel to have been part of such a vibrant and nurturing school community.

To our Parents, we thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your support of Riddlesworth Hall. We could not have asked for a more wonderful group of people to have with us through this final week.

To our staff who have shown the utmost dedication to their beloved school, thank you for your superb attainment in providing a wonderful education for our students. It is well known that children remember the teachers and school staff who cared deeply for their wellbeing and put their heart into their work- for this reason our staff will be remembered by so many students, both past and present.

And to our children, who have kept the heart of Riddlesworth Hall beating, thank you for being such wonderfully creative, inquisitive, hard-working, caring, polite students. It has been an absolute pleasure to have taught you and all of us here at Riddlesworth Hall are immensely proud of each and every one of you.

Wishing you all the success and happiness as you step into your next chapters.

Riddlesworth Hall Early Years children visited Tiddlywinks roleplay centre in Thetford today!

This gave the children the opportunity to discover a fun way to learn about themselves, others and their environment; whilst learning important skills that aid their cognitive and physical development.

When young children pretend to take on occupational job roles such as, police, doctors, nurses, teachers and builders, they’re engaging in play that encourages empathy amongst their peers. It’s fun and beneficial for early years to imagine themselves doing important roles in society.

Through occupational role-play, early years naturally build their communication and problem-solving skills as they discuss situations they face in their imagined job role.

The children loved shopping in the supermarket, being vets in the animal hospital and building in the construction area just to name a few.

Tiddlywinks then supplied a lovely snack for the children before they set off again to discover other areas of learning opportunities.

Following their study of “The Norman Conquest” the Prep school visited Norwich to see evidence of William the Conqueror’s reign.

They had a guided tour around the medieval streets of the city which included the cathedral, market and castle.

The children were amazed by the steepness of the Motte and the sheer size of the cathedral. A great day consolidating all their learning.
