We are a part of the Enrich Learning Trust, with an excellent record of both academic and sporting achievement. It was lovely popping in to visit Mr Thurlow's new lunchtime chess club on Wednesday! A great opportunity for students to develop their tactical skills as the weather becomes more inclement.

Do speak to Mr Thurlow to find out more information about the club.

πŸ’™πŸ’› OUR FIRST HOUSE EVENT! β€οΈπŸ’š
Yesterday, we kicked off our House Events with an exciting Timed Sudoku Challenge!
Over 70 students took part, with even more joining in to cheer on their House teams. The enthusiasm, teamwork and competitive spirit were fantastic to see!
πŸ† A huge well done to our winners! A special mention must go to Alice, who was the only student to complete the entire Sudoku grid correctly before the five-minute timer ran out! An incredible achievement! πŸ‘
Our winners have earned valuable House Points for their teams and every student who took part received a Curiosity HP just for getting involved.
What a brilliant start to a year full of House events, challenges and friendly competition. Bring on the next one!
πŸ’™πŸ’›β€οΈπŸ’š YOUR HOUSE. YOUR TEAM. WIN TOGETHER. πŸ’šβ€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’™

National Year of Reading Guinness World Record Reading Attempt 2026

Today at 11am 8Y1English took part in attempting a World record as Guinness attempted to get the most people reading on line together over a 12 hour period. Thousands of people from different countries and of all ages joined in by attending sessions led by famous authors.

Our session was run by Nathaneal Lessore author of Steady for This, one of our Bookbuzz books in 2024. Nathaneal gave a very entertaining talk about the things that have inspired him to write then we all joined together for 10 minutes reading along with all the other people listening in around the world. We will find out later this month if the record has been set. Well done 8Y1 for your participation!
