Congratulations to Maisie for passing her grade 2 piano exam with a merit! 🎉

All the work that Maisie has put in has definitely paid off, including all the time spent memorising the key signatures and accidentals of all the different scales.

Now that it's getting closer to Christmas, Maisie's goal is to complete Walking in the Air from The Snowman.

Congratulations to Lenny for passing his grade 1 piano exam! 🎉

Anyone who plays piano faces a number of challenges when it comes to their first exam. They have to play piano in a place they've never been on a piano they've never played for an examiner whom they've never met.

Lenny has done a brilliant job dealing with all of these challenges and has passed his first piano exam on his first try.

As some of you already know, I recently spent some time in the band pit for Thurcroft Musical Theatre Group's latest production, "A Night at the Moviecals".

During this time, I got to work not only with the talented cast, but also with these talented musicians. Not only are they great at playing their instruments, a few of them teach as well.

Not long to go now before schools reopen and my lessons resume! Here's to another musical year!

Here is my back to school design.

This design features a musical illustration of the summer holidays. The repeat markers for the phrase, "three weeks off", indicate that this is to be played twice before moving on to the second half of the song, "back to school".
