We are deeply touched by David’s generous words as we celebrate our 40th anniversary. His story reflects what Fèis Rois has always aimed to do: create opportunities, build confidence, champion inclusion, and nurture a supportive community for people at every stage of their musical journey. Give David’s page a follow so you don’t miss news of his imminent EP release!

Thank you, David, for being part of our community and for sharing your experience with such honesty and warmth.

Here’s to 40 years, and to many more ahead. 🎉

Tune in to BBC Radio Scotland's Travelling Folk tonight from 8pm to hear a special show celebrating Fèis Rois @ 40! Fiona will be in the studio chatting to Anna Massie and we've chosen some special music which we feel represents just some of what Fèis Rois has done over the years - a hard task to choose just a few tracks to play!

If you can't listen live, you'll be able to listen back after the broadcast.

🤩 We absolutely love this! 🤩

The power of youth exchange and international collaboration! Fin sums it up perfectly:
🔥 Fun
🔥 Hard work
🔥 Rewarding

Dìreach sgoinneil! We are so proud of Freya and all that she continues to achieve! 👏

In their original post, our friends Lowender said:

🎶 Tuesday Tunesday, Lorient Edition! 🎶

This week's Tuesday Tunesday comes to you from the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, where young musicians from Brittany, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Asturias, Galicia and Cornwall spent a week living, learning and performing together as part of the InterCeltic Music Camp. The project brings together talented young musicians from across the Celtic nations to create music, share traditions and build lasting friendships.

Today's tune is an absolute banger: Anthony Payne, written by Andy Davey and named after the legendary 17th-century "Cornish Giant" from Stratton.

Representing Cornwall were our own Finley bray music and Martha Woods Music, both former members of Lowender's youth folk ensemble. We were also delighted to spot Freya Taylor, who joined us in Cornwall in 2024 through our youth exchange with the Fèis Rois Ceilidh Trail.

What you can't see in this video is the crowd: around 7,000 people packed onto the Quai de Bretagne (though you can certainly hear them! 😍)

🎻✨ We were delighted to welcome Fèis Rois to Simpsons yesterday as part of their fantastic Ceilidh Trail.

Our visitors were treated to a wonderful afternoon of traditional Scottish music performed by an incredibly talented group of young musicians. It was a pleasure to host such inspiring performers and see so many people stop by to enjoy the music.

A huge thank you to everyone at Fèis Rois for bringing such energy, talent and atmosphere to Simpsons. We loved having you with us and hope to see you again! 🎶
