This Autumn Equinox eve Wednesday 23rd September 5-9pm, we’re celebrating our 11th annual Harvest Auction Fundraiser! Come along for our legendary, magical eve of comedy, fun and togetherness, win some locally grown and made harvest delights, and help raise funds for local charity Habibti Liverpool* Habibti Liverpool & Squash's Soup-it-Forward.

Growers - climate change is here - the multiple heatwaves these past weeks have made for early harvests. If, like us, you're preserving your produce into jams, pickles & chutneys - we'd be most grateful if you could save us a jar for the auction!

Donations of preserves, ferments plus home or allotment-grown fruit & veg (if you still have in mid September!) can can be dropped off at Squash on Saturday 19th, Sunday 20th or Tuesday 22nd September between 10am and 4pm.

Habibti Liverpool support the medical staff and children at Al Sabeen Hospital, in Sanaa, Yemen & Squash’s own ‘Soup it Forward’ initiative, makes sure neighbours in need can eat free in the Squash cafe, especially going into the colder months.

Our annual cafe & shop summer break is coming up....so there's 1 more week to stock up on Squash cafe vibes & fresh organic produce!!! Plus our legendary Turmeric Tonic and new on the shelf - local kimchi by Kimchi Jones!

We're open this week Weds 12th till Sunday 16th August 10am - 4pm.

Then we're back open on Friday 4th September for the autumn season!

The gardening & cooking sessions at our community garden will continue on Wednesdays 19th & 26th August 10am - 1pm.

Saturday 1st August 11-2 - Harvest Power: our Eco Open Day & Lughnasadh / Lammas; the Gaelic fire festival marking the grain & fruit harvest - the first harvest of the year. We’re coming together on Windsor Street to consider the past and future traditions of land, food, community, energy and place:

- Come and make and taste flatbread with Edi

- take a Squash building tours with architect and co-founder of People Powered Retrofit Marianne Heaslip People Powered Retrofit

- Visit the Travelling Power Station that centres fun, game playing, reflection, conviviality and care as crucial to the future of energy - with artist Josh

- Add to the Lughnasadh altar with artists Tabitha & Clare

- Visit the Co-Labouring with Soil exhibition at our community garden

Every Saturday is Sourdough Saturday at the Squash cafe – loaves and sweet bakes on sale from 10am!

It's looking like tomorrow eve is the hottest time of this current heatwave - 35c+.

We can't put our volunteers & staff under that strain, or expect you to travel here when it's so hot.

So - we've made the decision to cancel tomorrow evenings summer night session.

Let's work out another time for solstice reflections & street nature drawing when it's cooler. And times for considering what we can do together about the climate crisis.

The next Squash Summer Night then is Thursday 30th July 6-8pm when rumour has it there'll be climate emergency stand up & swing singing!

We'll save the elderflower & rose cordial we made in community at the May summer night session.

Squash Summer Night - last Thursday's of the month.

It's forecast 33 degrees+ this Thursday. From 6-8pm, let's get the deckchairs out, cool down with an iced elderflower fizz*, listen to some gentle summer tunes, reflect together on the summer solstice through nature drawing and consider how climate change is contributing to increasing temperatures.

*we'll be tasting the elderflower & rose cordial we made in community the last summer night session , see pics.

Café & shop open for tasty summer food x Free soup (or maybe something cooler) if you need x

Come and relax in our lush Squash gardens next Sunday 14th June - both our Grapes Community Garden & the Squash kitchen garden will be open for tours from 1-5pm.

Meet local gardeners & cooks and enjoy delicious food & drinks as part of the National Open Garden Scheme Canning & Toxteth Gardens group. Visit 8 gardens for just £6 including fellow community gardens Granby Winter Garden & Pakistan Association Wellbeing Garden plus private gardens in the area.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you! The Squash café & shop will be open from 10-5pm for delicious summer refreshments.
