Our friends Dinas Powys Athletic Club are hosting the Dinas Powys Fete today on the common. The weather is looking great so please go along to support them!

Thank you for all of the Dinas sun dances you've been doing, keep it going but fingers crossed we're looking good!

Wow! Friday was an absolute scorcher but so many of you still came out to support the Summer Fun Day and we are so grateful 🙏

🎉🎉🎉We are thrilled to announce that you helped us raise an incredible £2,400 for the school! 🎉🎉🎉

There are so many people to thank, firstly the school staff and teachers who gave up their own time to help us, the wonderful Year 6 volunteers, the parents, grandparents, friends & family members who put in a shift (or several shifts!) helping us get set up, run a stall, or even coming back at the end to help clear up and pack away all those gazebos in the heat! 🥵

The support from the local community was fantastic too, from Perry's Pitstop on the hot food and all the wonderful businesses who donated raffle prizes (and loaned us extra gazebos!)

Finally, a huge shout out to all the families who braved the heat and came to support the event - we hope the children had lots of fun 😊

📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE 📢

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to our Summer Fun day today.

Unfortunately, due to the forecast high temperatures, the company providing our inflatables has cancelled the booking on safety grounds. While we are extremely disappointed, we fully support the decision as the safety and wellbeing of our children must come first.

We know many children were excited about the inflatables, and we sincerely apologise for the disappointment this will cause.

The good news is that the rest of the Fun Day will still be going ahead as planned. We have lots of games, stalls, refreshments and activities to enjoy, and we are working hard to add some extra games to help make the afternoon as much fun as possible.

For those who purchased an unlimited wristband for the inflatables, we will be issuing a full refund. As the F&F team is made up of a small number of volunteers and we will be busy running the event today, refunds will be processed during next week. We appreciate your patience while we arrange this.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to seeing you today and hope everyone enjoys a fantastic afternoon despite this unexpected change.
