Hiyaaa💕
At Cherry Tree we don’t get to pick and choose which pony we ride every week! Every pony is different, and they all have their own personalities, quirks and ways of going.
Riding is all about learning to use your aids correctly, especially your legs! If you don’t use your legs, give clear instructions and keep riding, you’re not going to get very far!
Remember, these are riding school ponies, not Olympic sports horses! They’re here to teach you how to ride, build your confidence and help you improve your skills. Sometimes you might have to work a little harder for your transitions and sometimes your pony might test your patience, but that’s all part of learning!
The best riders aren’t the ones who always get the fastest pony or their favourite horse. They’re the ones who learn to adapt, put the work in and make the most of whoever they’re riding.
Please can I just give everyone little reminder about respect, too! We will not tolerate rudeness towards our staff, other clients or our ponies because someone hasn’t been allocated the horse they wanted. Everyone deserves to enjoy their time at the yard without feeling uncomfortable or being made to feel bad about the horse they’re riding.
Our ponies work hard, look after so many different riders and each have something to teach us. Please be respectful, kind and appreciative of them and the people around you. If you have a genuine concern, please speak to us politely and we’ll always do our best to help.
So next time you’re on a pony that needs a little more encouragement, get those legs working and remember… the pony can’t do all the work for you! 💕
Thank you to everyone who supports our little riding school and treats our ponies, staff and fellow riders with kindness. It really does mean the world to us ♥️
