The FODS Fairy Tale Scarecrow Trail Weekend proved to be a wonderful success, bringing the community together for a fun and memorable event.
Such a British thing, but we have to mention the weather. The warm sunny weather on Saturday drew out quite a crowd, the village was buzzing with people of all ages, it was so lovely to see. It was great to have a new FODS freezer in the hall brimming with ice lollies coinciding with some sunshine! Sunday’s weather was a little breezy and on the cooler side but it didn’t stop the flurry of people wandering round the village in search of scarecrows.
The standard of the scarecrows was fantastic, reflecting the time and effort goes into creating them. They were very cleverly thought out and there were a few more obscure ones that left us scratching our heads.
106 trail maps have been returned, and after tallying up all the votes for everyone’s favourite scarecrow, we can officially announce that the WINNING FAVOURITE scarecrow was…”The Little Mermaid”
A huge congratulations on this beautifully crafted scarecrow and very well-deserved win!
We will get in touch with the ‘maker’ to organise presenting them with their prize.
