This time last year, I was ready to walk away from teaching.

After years of working so hard to build my career, I genuinely wondered whether I still had anything left to give. I felt drained, I’d lost confidence in myself and I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.

If you’d told me then where I’d be now, I wouldn’t have believed you. This year has completely changed everything.

I’ve fallen back in love with teaching. I’ve laughed more, worried less and remembered why I chose this profession in the first place. Watching my class grow in confidence, achieve amazing results and become the wonderful little people they are has been the biggest privilege. Somewhere along the way, I found myself again.

Outside of school, A to Z Tutoring has had its best year yet. The business has grown more than I ever imagined. Alhamdulilah 🩵

Families continue to recommend me to their friends, my waiting list keeps growing and I’ve been overwhelmed by the kind words and incredible reviews from parents. Knowing that families trust me with something as important as their child’s education is something I’ll never take for granted.

And then came another exciting chapter…

After months of planning, conversations and plenty of cups of tea, Julie and I are launching YB Tuition. A brand-new group tuition business built on everything we both believe great learning should be. I genuinely can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

Looking back, I realise I didn’t need a new career. I just needed to rediscover why I loved the one I already had.

To every child and every parent who’s walked into my classroom or sat at my tutoring table this year, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you. You probably don’t realise it, but while I was helping you grow, you were helping me too.

Here’s to a well-earned summer and an even more exciting September.

Thank you, 2025–2026. You were the year I found my way back ❤️

We are so excited to announce that Julie Yarnold (Aim2Achieve Tutoring) and I are joining forces to offer supportive, confidence‑building small‑group sessions in the heart of Horbury.

Based at The Cluntergate Centre, we will be offering high quality and nurturing tuition for children in Year 5 and Year 6 from September 2026.
