GCSE Results Day 2026

We were really pleased to see our outgoing students when they arrived at the Academy this morning to collect their GCSE examination results.

We are delighted with the hugely successful outcomes and wish all of our former students every success as they move onto further education in September.

The Academy is closed for the summer holidays. We re-open to students on Wednesday 2nd September. Students should arrive for 8.30am in full Academy uniform.

GCSE RESULTS _ SUMMER 2026

GCSE results will be available to collect from the Academy Sports Hall foyer on Thursday 20th August between 9.00 am and 11.00 am.

There will be staff on hand to help students understand their results and to help with any queries they may have. A member of the Careers team will also be on hand to offer any help and guidance about post-16 places.

A parent/carer can collect results on a student’s behalf, but only if they have written permission to do so.

🏆 What a fantastic evening! 🏆

We were proud to host our Thornhill Community Academy Enrichment & Awards Evening, last Tuesday, celebrating the incredible achievements of our students both in and beyond the classroom.

It was wonderful to see so many students, families and staff come together to recognise the hard work, commitment and success of our young people. From academic excellence and resilience to leadership, sport and enrichment, the evening showcased the very best of our academy community.

A huge well done to our incredibly talented school band, who kicked off the evening with a brilliant performance, and to our Matilda cast, who wowed the audience with a special performance from the show.

A special congratulations goes to Cole Butler, who was presented with the Headteacher's Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Thornhill Community Academy. A truly well-deserved achievement.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success, particularly our staff, students and families. We are incredibly proud of everything our young people have achieved this year, and we can't wait to build on this success next year.

The Base Kirklees are offering a series of free coffee mornings and afternoons for parents, carers and family members who would like information, advice and support around young people's va**ng and ni****ne use.

DofE Expedition

A huge congratulations to our 31 fantastic students who successfully completed their Bronze DofE expedition! After working hard all year to complete their volunteering, physical, and skill sections, they showed incredible teamwork and resilience during the final trek. You have done yourselves and TCA incredibly proud!

☀️ Huge smiles at our Summer Shop today! ☀️

In support of the summer initiative encouraging young people to get outdoors and stay active, our student rewards programme enabled a large number of students to receive free outdoor play equipment. ⚽️🏸

They were absolutely thrilled to choose fun items to keep them moving over the holidays. 🥳

🙏 A massive thank you to the charity for their incredibly generous £750.00 donation, which covered the full cost of the equipment. We couldn't have done it without you! 🤝❤️

We were absolutely delighted to welcome former student, Rebeca Maxiniuc, back to the Academy today. Rebeca stepped back into the classroom to inspire our current students by running a fantastic, hands-on workshop during their art lesson.

A massive congratulations to Rebeca, who has just completed her art degree at university. We are so proud of her success and incredibly grateful to her for sharing her time, talent, and journey with our GCSE Art students.
