Kathryn Gray Childminder
Kats Kids Childminder For each child I look after I keep a child record book charting their achievements and plan for new experiences.
I have been registered as a childminder since 2008
I previously worked for a large law firm in Leeds for 10 years before moving into childcare. These are readily available for parents to take home and add to, for example, when they go on holiday etc so it depicts a fuller picture of your childs development. My Ofsted rating is "Good" (last inspection December 2017) a copy is available on the Ofst

Providers have never been able to charge top up fees - this is a spin and it’s making parents Mis-trust providers - I’ve never charged for consumables either, rather asking parents to provide their own food, nappies etc - the government is using this as a push for state run childcare and not giving parents a choice - will your 2yo be ready for a school environment - because that’s going to be the only option

USE US OR LOSE US!! Earlier into school is not better
Are you ready to be fined for taking your 2 year old out of school in term time?
Our Education system is dumbing down children, it was created nearly 200 years ago. Educating children in preparation for factory life.
To conform, comply, sit still, learn by rote, memorising and regurgitating facts.
What can we do?
Let’s celebrate the incredible the role of Early Childhood settings and childminders. To shout from the roof tops that children need safe, secure play spaces. A slower pedagogy with educators who understand the need for PLAY
An extension of home instead of over decorated classrooms, rigidity, rote learning, memorisation, tests and targets! 😭 2 year olds expected to act like 4 years olds and 3 years expected to act as if they were six 🤬
Places and spaces where children have autonomy, can question, explore, discover and play.
To be nurtured through respectful care giving, to feel love, experience joy and uncontrollable laughter. ♥️
To be given control of their OWN learning, instead of being taught on mass, following the same linear plan.
To get children up out of their chairs, hands on active learning. To create powerful rich play spaces, labrotaruims ! Children more than ever need to develop creativity, inquiring minds. What they don’t need is institutes conformity, compliance to meet a Government agenda.
The Earliest Years ARE the most important, with up to 90% brain development occurring by age five. Quality early education equips children with the skills they need to reach their full potential, setting them on a path toward lifelong success.
