We’re excited to be introducing some new session times and pricing, making SiSu Nature Academy even more flexible for home-educated children and young people! 🌲✨

WEDNESDAYS
🌿 Childminder session (for up to 3 children): 9.30am–11am — £9 per childminder
🌿 Childminder session (for up to 3 children): 11.30am–1pm — £9 per childminder
🌿 Additional mindees: £2 per child for Wednesday childminder sessions
🌿 Mixed ages 5+: 1pm–4pm — £30

FRIDAYS
🌿 9am–12.30pm — £30
🌿 1pm–4pm — £30
🌿 Full day 9am–4pm — £50 🎉

Our sessions are all about nature connection, curiosity, creativity, confidence and wellbeing, with plenty of opportunities to explore, make, build, learn and simply be outdoors. 🍂🔥🌳

Whether you’re looking for a childminder session for up to 3 children, a half-day adventure or a full day immersed in nature, there’s now more flexibility to find what works for your family.

At SiSu Saplings, we believe childhood is not something to rush. It is a time to wonder, explore, create, connect and simply be.

Our childcare is inspired by the values of SiSu — resilience, courage, curiosity and a deep connection with ourselves, each other and the natural world. 🌲

🔎 The Curiosity Approach — encouraging children to investigate, question, experiment and discover rather than simply being told the answers.

🎨 Reggio Emilia — seeing children as capable, creative individuals with their own ideas, interests and ways of expressing themselves.

🌳 Forest School pedagogy — developing confidence, independence, resilience and self-esteem through meaningful experiences in nature.

Most importantly, we follow the child.

So apologies for the radio silence but I've been working on something exciting behind the scenes.

🌱 Why childcare is becoming part of the SiSu provision.

There’s a reason I’m adding childcare to the SiSu portfolio — and it feels like such a natural next step in the journey we’ve been on.

SiSu has always been about more than simply being outdoors. It’s about creating spaces where children can belong, breathe, explore, connect and learn in ways that work for them.

Through SiSu Nature Academy, I’ve seen first-hand how much children can thrive when we step away from pressure and give them time, freedom, connection and genuine relationships.

Adding SiSu Saplings Childcare means we can bring that same ethos to children from the very beginning of their journey. 🌿

We are also taking the next step towards becoming Ofsted registered, which means we will be able to offer families greater choice and access to support with the cost of childcare.

Subject to meeting the relevant eligibility and registration requirements, we plan to offer places that can be accessed through:

🌱 Early Years Funded Entitlement
💳 Tax-Free Childcare
🏡 Universal Credit childcare support

We know that childcare costs can be a huge consideration for families, so being able to offer these options is an important part of making SiSu accessible to more families.

But this isn't about creating just another childcare setting.

It's about creating a place where children can spend their early years connected to nature, supported by responsive adults and surrounded by opportunities to explore at their own pace.

As our incredible 1st year at SiSu Nature Academy comes to an end, I've been reflecting on just how much our wonderful children have achieved.

This year has been filled with muddy boots, campfires, woodland adventures, laughter, new friendships, and countless moments of growth. We've watched children discover confidence they didn't know they had, overcome challenges, learn new skills, and find a place where they truly belong.

Every den built, every creature discovered, every marshmallow toasted, every stick whittled, and every smile shared has been part of something much bigger than outdoor learning—it has been about connection, wellbeing, resilience, and simply allowing children to be themselves.

To all of our amazing families, thank you. Thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and being part of our community. Your encouragement means the world, and we couldn't do this without you.

To our incredible children—you inspire me every single week. Watching you grow in confidence, kindness, curiosity, and courage is the greatest privilege.

To those moving on to their next chapter, we are so proud of you and know you will carry the SiSu spirit with you wherever you go. We will miss you dearly and wish you every success and happiness in your new adventure.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer filled with adventures, sunshine (hopefully!), muddy puddles, bug hunting, tree climbing, and plenty of time outdoors making memories.
