Our Saplings are growing!

We loved welcoming our little visitors back to Five Lanes this week for another afternoon of exploring, playing and learning alongside our Reception and KS1 children.

This week’s Saplings session was inspired by The Gruffalo’s Granny 🐾🌳 and it was wonderful to see our visitors growing in confidence as they explored everything Beech Class had to offer.

Come and join us next Monday!

Our Saplings are growing!

We were delighted to welcome our first little visitors to Five Lanes this week for our new Saplings sessions. They had a wonderful time joining the children in Beech Class, exploring our provision, playing together and getting a little taste of life at Five Lanes.

Our next Saplings session is:

Monday 21st September
1.30pm–2.30pm
Five Lanes CE Primary School

Saplings is open to all children aged 2–4 years. Parents and carers are welcome to stay, enjoy a cup of tea and some cake, while their children play and explore.

You don’t need to be considering Five Lanes for Reception to join us – we simply want Saplings to be a welcoming space for young children and families in our local community.

Come along and grow with us. We’d love to welcome you!

This week, our Elder Class children in Years 5 and 6 attended a fantastic author talk as part of Marlborough LitFest.

Alongside children from lots of other schools, they had the opportunity to listen to local author Emily Randall-Jones talk about her book, *The Scream of the Whistle*, and hear more about her journey as a writer.

Even better, we were delighted to ensure that every child came away with their very own signed copy of the book to enjoy.

The children returned to school full of excitement and enthusiasm following the talk. It has been wonderful to see so many copies already appearing on desks around the classroom as the children get stuck into their new books.

A brilliant experience that really helped bring reading and writing to life for our children.

Learning goes far beyond the classroom at Five Lanes!

Our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children had a wonderful woodland adventure at Dauntsey’s School, where they enjoyed den building, team challenges and plenty of opportunities to work together, explore and have fun.

The perfect ending? Hot chocolate, marshmallows and cookies!

At Five Lanes, our small school community means we can offer our children a wide range of experiences while ensuring every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

If you are looking for a school for your child, we would love to welcome you to Five Lanes and show you what makes our school special.

Every day is an open day – get in touch to arrange a visit.

We are excited to introduce Saplings, our new weekly group at Five Lanes CE Primary School!

Saplings is designed to give children aged 2–4 the opportunity to become familiar with school life in a relaxed and welcoming way. Each week, they will be invited to join our Reception and KS1 children, exploring our classroom provision, playing alongside them and beginning to build confidence in a school environment.

Parents and carers are very welcome to stay too – there will be tea, cake and a chance to meet other families and get to know our school.

Our first Saplings session is Monday 14th September, from 1.30pm–2.30pm.

There is no need to be joining Five Lanes for Reception to come along – all local families with children aged 2–4 are very welcome.

We would love to see you there!
