By some way, this is the biggest piece of work that I have undertaken. 291 pages, but packed with history and stories including the early adoption of Rayon in the Nottingham Lace industry; a family that married into a Staffordshire pottery firm that made Brown Betty teapots; individuals that travelled the world in the heyday of the transatlantic liners and several trips to Nottingham to take photos of houses and of family gravestones. A pleasure and privilege to have been commissioned to do this.

It seems appropriate that, at this time of the year, we think of our families, both present and those who lived over the past couple of centuries. Here are some of my ancestors in the light of the Christmas candles. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you that follow my exploits and to my customers over the past year. May we continue to explore the lives of our ancestors together in 2019.

Not completed a family history for a while (several on the go at once), but this one was fun and took me into the Lake District and Cumberalnd in the 19th century with farmers going bankrupt and several more emigrating to Canada to make a living. One chap, however, became a joiner and moved to Manchester, as a member of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners, working on the railway. What a lovely membership certificate!
My customer wrote "Completely exceeds my expectation. So, so pleased with the final version".
Always rather wonderful not only to do good research, but also to please the customer.
